Send them a email! and stick it on a delivery recpt and read recpt and then you have proof you sent it.
    Kind Regards

Ive just phoned BT Mobile as my contract expires on 30th August, I was told to ring back on the 30th August and they will cancel it there and then on the phone. Ive had contracts with other operators before and have ALWAYS had to give 30days notice in writing. Should I also just send it to them in writing?

I got PAC yesterday and it took only 5 minutes. Initially i asked to downgrade to pay as you go option, which they don't have (according to them). I tried to hard for a better upgrade deal (£240 SE K750i for a year) but finally they have given PAC

Just got off the phone to BT to get PAC code and it only took around 10 mins, confirmed that a transfer of number will end contract without ringing BT again.

    Fingers crossed all goes well.

My contract runs out on the 13th. I have yet to find a phone on a suitable deal I want. Can I cancel my phone on the 13th and then get my PAC.

How long will the PAC be valid for? Forever?

You can negotiate for a deal. They do agree for half price line rental for 6 months and give you a decent upgrade (offered me k700i for £20 pm and k750i for £27 pm)

If you are not satisfied with deal you can ask for PAC which they will give you immediately. This is valid for 1 month (AFAIK). On the date of porting your number to new network provider, your BT contract will get terminated.

This is what my new operator explained to me (o2, porting happens on 10 August. Fingers crossed!)

Just got my final bills on 2 contracts (Marked "Final Bill" !). Interesting outcome.

12 months would be up in mid-August. Got PAC code around 7 July and PAC went live on 14 July when BT was disconnected.

I was expecting the final bills to charge for the period from end July (the date up to which I had paid on my 11th bill) to the 12 month anniversary in mid August.

Instead they each have a credit for the period 19th July to 31st July (not sure why 19th rather than 14th/15th).

Even better the credit is at the full undiscounted rate of £27 odd per month rather than just the £19.98 which I was actually paying.

This means that I have effectively only paid for 11 months on the contracts. Lets hope there is no fuss from e2save through whom I got the great cashback deal this time last year. I already have all my cashback and no need to send the 12th bill, so I am hoping not.

I'm sitting here fuming and shaking with anger and still haven't effectively cancelled my BT contracts. I think mine is problematic as I don't want PAC codes, I just want the accounts closed as the end of month 12.

I called a couple of times last week the first time they wouldn't talk to me at all as they had converted both accounts to my husbands name as he pays the BT landline bill. Hubby phones them and confirms they can talk to me and they assure him that I have been added to the accounts, however they refuse to take advance cancellation details and tell him I need to call on the 10th August.

I emailed in confirming details of this call and got an email back saying I needed to call someone about cancelling the contract, so just in case I misunderstood I phoned them and was told again that I could not cancel until the 10th August, they also denied having received the recorded delivery letter that was signed for back at the end of July.

I called again this morning and spoke to someone who told me i had no authority on the account, she put me through to a supervisor and I got cut off. Phoned back, waited 55 minutes in a queue to be told that I cannot cancel the accounts as I don't have authority, even though they have both verbal and written confirmation from my husband it doesn't count for cancellations. They also changed their mind about the date of one of the contracts and now say one does not finish until the 12th.

They refused to give me a name or put me through to a supervisor. I explained that my husband is not available to talk to them and basically it is hard luck, if he doesn't phone to cancel today then I am liable for another months payment at full undiscounted rate. I suggested that the recorded delivery letter was sufficient notice of cancellation and said that I would just cancel the direct debits, and was told that I would be considered in breach and would be taken to court.

It is unlikely my husband will be back until extremely late this evening and don't know what time they will take a cancellation request up to assuming he can get through on the phone, so what do I do now?

  • Anyone know the phone number for BTMobile, as I've got an account I wish to cancel in the middle of August.

    Cheers in advance.
