Seller wants to charge £60 postage.. help please..

Hardly dodgy when he stated the postage at the start.
You agreed to the items at advertised sale price, dodgy would have been to try and charge more than he stated, which he clearly hasn't.
Seems you entered a contract without reading or thinking and thats not his fault but yours. Remember as far as ebay is concerned these items are now sold so the seller has his fees to pay. I wouldn't blame him issuing a NPB.A male chef of 4. My restaurant is always full and i don't need to tout for business.
OK OK I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way :beer:0 -

I bought 7 items, postage should not be £60 for 7 items which will be sent in the same package. The auction stated £10 postage each, but there would be arrangements made for multiple item purchases. Have you read the thread?
He later told me in one of his emails that his "standard discount" was £2.50 per item. Yet this wasn't mentioned in any of the listings.. I wonder why? Possibly because a situation like this might happen, and he can take the opportunity to blackmail someone into giving him £45 profit?
The seller making something in the region of £45 profit from postage (at least!) isn't dodgy is it?
I think we all know that eBay auction purchases are NOT a legally binding contract.
If the seller were reasonable he would agree to mutually cancel, I admit that I didn't ask about the specific shipping discount (as previously stated, not enough time to receive a reply about it) however, HE didn't state his "standard" discount - obviously to get people to pay some kind of massively inflated postage so he can profit from it!0 -
Hmmmm, if I was the seller I would send all the items in one container with a courier, this would probably cost around £10 so the postage I would be charging the buyer would be around £20 all in as this would cover p&p and time spent waiting on courier to collect.
However if the OP's seller insists on a £60 charge then I would want them sent seperate with differant tracking numbers for each item.
OP you really shouldn't dive in head first in future, plus on big buys you should go through quidco or pigsback for 40%-45% of ebays profit back.0 -
Seems your not willing to listen to anyone so why post at all ?
And yes i read the thread, he did what he stated he would, he deducted £2.50 per item postage.
I wouldn't call that dodgy, maybe your unhappy about the postage costs but then as shellsuit stated in reply, you should have sorted that out before hand and not bought all six for the postage stated.
If you had bought each individual item of him it would have cost you the £10 postage per item. You were clearly happy about this or would never have opted to purchase all six in the first place.
I've said what i wanted to say and as I was pretty annoyed you called him dodgy.A male chef of 4. My restaurant is always full and i don't need to tout for business.

Take it up with Ebay. No point moaning here, as you don't like the answers.
Thanks, will call powerseller support and see what advice they can give.jan03 wrote:Hmmmm, if I was the seller I would send all the items in one container with a courier, this would probably cost around £10 so the postage I would be charging the buyer would be around £20 all in as this would cover p&p and time spent waiting on courier to collect.

My heavy parcels go by courier for £6. I tend to charge £10 if the item is easier to pack, £12 if its more difficult, and in the case of a guitar amplifier I have put on which is massively bulky, heavy and requires a lot of packaging £15.
I would be very happy to pay the seller £20 as opposed to £60.
Thanks for the advice about quidco and pigsback - I didn't know about this, and I have bought quite a bit lately, so that is very useful information.danz0l wrote:Seems your not willing to listen to anyone so why post at all ?

He didn't state £2.50 per item in the auction descriptions - so what do you mean he did what he said he would? He said what he did!
Actually 7 items, not 6, you REALLY didn't read the thread did you?
Yes, he is a dodgy seller by my reckoning.. and others, do you know him or something?
I asked for constructive advice, not criticism and "well.. you should have.." "oh, you deserve an NPB"0 -
Agggghhhhh, dodgy buyers!!

Just got off the phone to powerseller support. They agree the shipping costs are excessive and have asked for me to send them a copy of the email invoice with full headers, they will investigate and take action.0

Beg pardon?
LOL everyone is quick to slate sellers and their being "dodgy" but what exactly has the seller done that is so drastically wrong? They have kept to their side of the deal, and now the buyer is wading in whinging about postage costs. They are as they were stated, you should have sorted this before completion.
And I know you won't like what I am saying! :rotfl:0 -
It seems like you've already decided that the seller is wrong and anyone who disagrees with your opinions is deemed to be criticising. What is the point in posting and wasting everyones time?-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
