But I am not "pretending to believe" in them. I have already said if all companies I deal with use geographical numbers then I won't get any calls to my 0870 number as they will be given my geographical number. Therefore my 0870 number will be redundant.

awh come on guys....... its up to the individual surely? i dont think companies will stop using 0870 numbers....

Don`t take the "pretending to believe" to literally,it was the quickest I could get on line and I did say there are variations. we are not going to agree but that reply says what I wanted to say.

FieryBlondeScot, companies might not stop using them,but as my reply#6 says,if we use them for them to call us they will increase their usage to compensate.

OK, so I've put one more of these numbers in operation now, but I'm not going to bankrupt companies by making them ring it. Indeed, it's their choice whether they ring it! That's the theory of competition Ofcom would have us believe, anyway. ::)
