DS finally gone down for a nap. Everything is taking so long to do cos he just pulls everything out as he goes past it and leaves a trail of destruction. He has just learnt how to open the heavy drawers on the bookcase which have dvds in. Why did DH think it a good idea to oil them

    We have managed:
    • up and had breakfast - about 45 mins
    • both of us washed and dressed, and one load of washing sorted out - 1 hour
    • emptied the WM of clothes from yesterday, and put another load on - 20 min, turkey out of the freezer for dinner
    • getting coat and shoes on, and in the car - 30 mins
    • supermarket trip - 45 min
    • unloaded the car while he was asleep in the back
    • unpacked the shopping while i plonked him in front of a barney dvd with a couple of rich tea fingers - multi tasked and also cooked him a pizza for lunch.
    • then, i have been trying to minimise the trail of destruction around the livinig room from about 12:30 to now, but there still isn't a clear space to walk.
    • not to mention the 3 horrendous nappies changed today - i want one of those boihaz suits that woman has on the washing powder commercial.
DH had best not ask me what i have been doing today or he will be in bother. Someone please tell me they get a bit better, as i am knackered. I've got a full weekend of this to look forward to as well while DH swans off on this stag do.

suppose i had best wash up and at the very least sweep under the dining table while he is in bed. I should also pack some of the toys away so the hoover can come out in a bit. I'll wait till he gets up for that though and he can help. He seems to like that.

    Afternoon everyone,

Not done quite as well today but have managed to wash everyone's bedding and halfway through drying it. Think I'll get DH to put bedding back on our bed while I'm working tonight - he's got off far too lightly this week!

Have sorted through lots of baby clothes and toys from DD2's bedroom though and how have everything separated out into bag for charity and bag for ebay - each sorted into the right age as well. Took ages though.

Have to agree with GnB - doctors were amazing with DD2 - she had scan on her hips at 6 weeks but fortunately no problems there but did go into hospital at 9 months with a nasty urinary tract infection and they were great with her and us. She's already had an ultrasound scan to check for any kidney abnormalities of which there were none but she's due back in May for another scan where they sedate her, inject her with something then scan her to see how well her kidney's are functioning and if the infection damaged them. Feeling a bit anxious about that already and its not 'til May! Does seem to depend where you live as to how good the treatment is though.

Got leek and potato soup ready for the kids for tea (kindly donated by my mum) and homemade fish pie from the freezer for me & DH for later. Just enough time for DD1 to do homework, give kids tea, clear up, give DH tea, clear up again, bathtime, Pj's, milk, bed, get ready for work, work, and collapse into bed at about 1am! I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

See you all tomorrow - have a good evening everyone.

PS cha97michelle Bananas Rice Apples & Toast (BRAT) are supposed to be good for nappy problems, and plenty of water. Went through similar when DS was about 12months.

gunsnadbanjos and pigpenMy DS 1 and 3 have both suffered from growing pains. Both of them immediately before a huge growth spurt. DS1 grew 6 inches in less than a year, DS3 is suffering at present and I am NOT buying him any new clothes yet. Both also have hypermobility of joints like me. GPs just hand out anti-inflammatory pain killers. DS2 has been having regular assessments for lack of growth!! He doesn't get growing pains though.

DS3 was given to me to hold so he could die in comfort when 8 weeks old. That was after we eventually got him into hospital. GP wouldn't see him and when I went to the surgery with him a little old lady gave me her appointment as she could see he was a very sick baby. He was my fourth, so they should have known by then I wasn't a neurotic mother, they just presumed. He was diagnosed with septicaemia due to severe kidney infection. He has wierd kidneys and is also lactose intolerant. Sorry I am rambling again.

Thanks pigpen for the encouragement to fling. I have just got rid of some clothes I was hoping would fit me again. I've just given them away. I can alsways get something new if I ever lose this excess weight.

If Leeds was an option for a meet I could get there by train from near here. I might have to bring DD with me as although I have more energy I still rely on others quite a lot.

soblivion, well done you've done loads this week!

    extras achieved:
    • emptied airers - some stuff folded and can be put away when DS wakes up, the rest unfortunately added to the ironing pile of doom
    • hung one load of wet washing up
    • took one load out of WM
    • reloaded WM with a load of DH's stuff as his basket was overflowing
    • put out some paper and tin recycling
    • emptied the kitchen bin and wiped out where i could reach with a cloth - reminder to self to get DH to lean right in and do it properly next time it is emptied.
I think i am on a bit of a go slow unfortunately. I think i am going to grab half an hour with my eyes shut now before i wake DS up
