Love your card, pap, I was going to ask you how you did that lovely aperture so thanks for sharing (I want one of those 'wizardy nesty' things now! ) Thanks also for the idea of colouring with pigment inks, I wouldn't have thought of doing that. Chalk ink? Are those the felt-tip type with chalk in? Also, what is a 'crafters companion?' - any links?

Sorry quicksave, only just saw your post. Chalk ink are just ink pads but they are chalky and set really fast. I use mine to ink my edges or brush lightly on die cut images to make them softer. they have muti functions and they are very cheap ~ but they are very small pads. I use the cats eyes ~ here but you can also get dew drops from versa mark/majic and they are just in a droplet shape.

A crafters companion is basically a workspace thing that you can make card, envelopes, envelopboxes, boxes, pop up cards and embossing all from one station. It also has a cutter and measuring guide. the actuall item can be seen in action here. You can buy it directly from them or they are also in some hobby crafts, ebay and here. You can buy each one idividually too from ebay as she used to sell everything seperately. You can also get normal wooden boards that you can make envelopes and cards on.

    Hope that helps...

Off to think up a male card :D

That is absolutely beautiful! I love the mother's day one you did too. You're very talented. Do you sell your work?

I've just looked again. You do sell. Do they sell well? Do you use the internet only, or craft fairs?

Hi crannog, Well I have been trading online for 5 months and made £180 before costs, But i did have a wedding order for 100 (£80) cards and most are commisioned. I sell online only but I do sell in work/to my family as and when :)

Hiya All, Lots of great cards being put on here - well done each & every one of us! :T :T :T I do hope we have inspired others to 'have a go' too!

Thanks go to pap for answering my queries about the chalkie things - I've never seen those before - and for the info about the crafters companion, that will have to go on my wish list! :D

I'm not sure what male card I will be doing yet, as I said my hubbys birthday was last week. I won't be doing a fathers day one either, my father is also no longer with us. Mine may well be a little boy's - I do like to do individual ones for my son's friends birthdays - like the robot one that was on page 29. I don't find male ones much fun either - but kiddy ones are! :D

Good morning everybody!! I hope everyone is well!! I am hoping the stuff I ordered over the weekend arrives today so that I can get cracking on my "challenge of the week card". No sign of it so far, but the postman always turns up late.
I was wondering how much success people had when it comes to making money from their hobby, I haven't had much! I sold a few to a local art shop, but she only wanted really plain cards, paid me a £1 for them and then sold them for £3, so I stopped that. Has anyone got a website or an ebay shop that we could have a nose, I mean a look at!

Hi Melissa, Take a look at postingalwaysposting's post on this page - click on the blue 'here' bit of the post above that says "Crannog here last one ~ sleeping bear". Thats a link to pap's website where she sells her cards. Theres also a discussion above too.

I might try that polly, I mean putting stickers on the back. My other half has a huge family so it might be worth doing. His parents have loads of cards from me, but they don't have much money so I don't charge them.
