shaz - thanks..............I'll try and have a look in a printing shop when I'm down at my Mums.........they're likely to have more choice than ours........it's only a small town so very limited and everything else is 20 miles away !
I don't sell my cards either..........never really thought anyone would want to buy them.................lol It'sjust a hobby and I enjoy it.
polly - free style................wonderful !! Think I might already have one done tucked away somewhere................lol
Will post it to you at the weekend (hopefully)Mary

Ooh Mary, have we got to wait that long until we see yours? Don't know if we can!...
I've got tons of craft equipment collected over years from when I was a student (art!) yonks (& yonks, lol) ago...but I still keep getting more! They are always creating (so called) better/easier stuff that I just have to have. Since scrapbooking came into this country from the US, art shops seem to have a lot more interesting stuff than they used to. I always try to get things in the sales wherever possible, but ocasionally (OK a lot!) I tend to get it anyway. Not very mse, I know... BUT I do use cheap/charity shop materials when I can (eg my denim pocket card) and they can look just as good (if not better) than the ones that cost a fortune to make.
I'd never used free background papers before the links given on this forum so thanks for those and well done shaz and melissa for your cards. :T :T .I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
qwiksave - got a bit muddled I think............
little grey cells and all that.................lol
I sent polly my 'decoupage' thinking thats what it was for this coming week so that'll have to be my 'freestyle'...................lol
Thats the trouble with trying to plan too far ahead of myself...........lol
I keep grabbing cheap stuff when I can and so far got a roll of brown suede material, some off white canvas type stuff and a roll of dark green corrugated card...........think that might be useful for christmas.
I also re-use a lot of cards that get sent to me on birthdays and christmas.......not personal ones from family or those hand made by friends but bog standard ones that have bits I can re-use...........call it re-cycling............lolMary

Shaz, but this is the embassasing thing, I think I have spent all of £20 on actual craft stuff since starting my business (excluding that up there). So it is quite shocking really hence my stash dieting this month. I rarely buy magazines as I get all my inspiration from you guys off the web but when I do spend I spend. Last time I spent some money I spent £39  and I havent recived that order yet as some of the items are out of stock. However I look at it like this, I save 1/3 of my wages, I pay all my bills, I have no debts, I am young free and single and I enjoy this so why not have this (and my wii console) as my vices? So thats my reasoning behind it. Some may say its excessive but take a look here, and you can see some people will take it way to far... I have stopped buying now except those listed above, card stock and addesives. When I run out of patterned paper/eyelets/brads I will have to shop a bit more but untill then I am on a strict stash diet :rotfl:
Woo hooo, free style, I am soo up for this, fingers crossed I can get a card made tonight0 -
I just clicked on that link PAP - OH MY GOD!!!!! It looks like a decent stocked shop NOT someone's hobby room. What an understanding husband she must have! I thought I had got too much and mine's just in a cupboard. Surely she must make a living from her craft making, I can't believe all that is for her!!!0

melissa, my understanding is she doesnt sell her work. She also lives in the states and had to remortgage her home. Not that I am judging anyone but I think thats way over the top. Her is her own blog for you to have a gander some people though take it out of context as in its not what you can make its how much stuff you own ~ so not mse!0 -
Much as I love messing about with my cards I couldn't cope with that lot ! Crikey its like an obsession !!! I'd get totally confused with it all however organised it all was.
I think we each spend what we can afford and what we want. I enjoy it and no doubt if finances allowed I'd be more than happy wandering around craft shops but as I can't, then the times I do and I treat myself I'm more than happy with.Mary

Oh my god .................if its all for personal use why does she need 5 desks ??
My own reasons for crafting are i was looking for a cheap(ish) hobby which would be relaxing as i have had a really stressful time last year or so due to my business going bust (catering) and haven't really settled in a job since
Have just made the decision to go to uni and retrain, actually thats true ,to get a qualification to acknowledge what i can already do but no one will let me......LOL
Have an interview with lincoln uni tomorrow!! wish me luck
Anyway i have been busy this weekend and here are the results
