I presume he would have said if he thought they were dangerous to eat but has anyone who has eaten them before found them to smell? Would this just be because the guts were left in for a few days and if so this isn't an issue health-wise?
Cheers.
I really think you ought to ask this over on http://forum.downsizer.net/viewforum.php?f=28&sid=a6a9543a85633f3ed9905183f310f534
There will definitely be someone there who can give you advice on this.0 -

Years ago - about 50 - my gran and I stayed with my aunty in the depths of the Lincolnshire countryside. They lived with no running water, no gas and no electricity. My uncle had shot some rooks that were eating his crops. My aunty made them into a pie, something like a pork pie with jelly.
It was lovely, I remember liking it very much.0 -

I remember The Two Ronnies' Rook Restaurant sketch. Rook's off. Rook and raspberry ripple ice cream, anyone? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I mentioned this thread to my OH who suggested a pair of squirrel slippers!
My mental picture was so gross :rotfl:
I wouldn't mind trying squirrel, it eats healthily + is very active. Let us know what it tastes like please.0 -
My OH has just bought a squirrel from a farmer's market (dead one). He is busily looking for suggestions of how to cook it. It's turning my stomach just thinking about it but I am sure someone on here will know how to cook it. Suggestions quickly please before I succumb to the temptation to sling it in the bin.0
