So by your reckoning if someone were to see an opportunity to buy something and sell on for a profit they should just walk on by because they don't really need it?

Unfortunately where I live (in real world) that's never going to happen.
I would suggest that what anewman is complaining about is the growing number of ppl who see a grabbit posted here and then rush round and buy all the stock available locally, to sell on Ebay. Then come on here to brag about it.

In the next county north of you, where not as many footballers live, that is called GREED ;) .

You joke about this, but I see an increasing number of kids who when they get into the real world won't be able to spell (because their PC has a spellchecker for their homework, and they use text speak or T9), can't add because they use their calculator at school and mobile phone while out and about, and won't know how to read a map because they've never had to!

As much as technology moves forward, I don't see people developing new superior skills that the previous generation didn't have to replace what they are losing (apart from being able to operate this new technology - which is all really a subset of being able to operate a PC - i.e. if you can use a PC, you can probably use a phone, a satnav, a Freeview box, etc.).

I reckon in 5,000 years if the planet still exists, humans will have much smaller brains!:D
