Looks to be a wind up. i went down to the nuneaton store just in case but really didn't think it would be 97p. But even if it was ( i used to work at PCWorld) it's not often that a deal like that would get as far as the customer, the staff get a printout of all the price reductions, usually the manager, as they have to change all the price tickets. This info is often had my the manager the day before.
i was surprised to get any of the 97p games last week.
And hello back to the guy who i met at currys.

    happy bargain hunting all !!

No wonder we have traffic congestion, pollution and climate change, when we get pointless wind ups like this.

Another mug here that fell for it, an annoying waste of my Sunday morning lie-in, though I have to laugh at the success of the wind-up...our local Currys must have thought their luck was in when a large queue was waiting outside on opening time!

  • i just returned from currys, had reserved sat nav last nite. was told that the price on shelf was the selling price...aha thinks I....was warned that they might do this, so asked the assistant to check computer which he obligingly did. X350 came up at 69 quid, (though did see some binatone phones on there for 7p!!) Thinking back to the original post, i asked him to go get the box and scan the bar code on the till (being real clever!!), so he goes out back and comes back with box.....scans it...and lo and behold!!!!!!!......
    £69.99....felt bit stupid....in fact felt like a !!!!. Apologised and beat a hasty retreat.:o
    Thanks for the tip off....not.

Please don't post anymore unsuccessful bargain hunts as they just amuse the wind up merchants......hence feeding them.

One good thing - this gets the tw@ts that think it's good to buy stuff cheap and sell it on ebay or at the car boot all excited.

One bad thing - it wasted the time of people who otherwise do not have £70 for a sat nav (or everyone would be posting back saying they bought one for full price).

Why would 7 MSERs 'thank' the OP?

Surely you would wait to see if it was a genuine offer 1st?

Actually, that gives me an idea to get limitless thanks :)
