I doubt it.. you need an income to apply for one, and benefits won't count..

really? I tried to apply for one, but you need to earn like £10,000 to be eligible. Although I'm not sure if that applies to all credit cardsSorry No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
OP: Do not go down this road. If you have no job and little income you will get yourself into a vicious debt cycle really fast because you will be spending (presumably) far more than you earn, and paying back less than the monthly interest (if you can afford the minimum repayments at all).
Even if you can get one, don't get one. Please.0 -

I am, however, aware that some credit card providers, eg M&S et al, only ask for household income. I'm also familiar with the Disability Discrimination Act.
The statement I replied to was factually incorrect.0 -
I don't think you will find anyone that will give you credit or a credit card when you have no income.. what would be the point?! You have no current means to repay it..
This isn't a go at OP, but the numpty that said you can get a card..
Even by the slim chance that some low life cowboy of a company would give you one, I don't expect their interest rates or terms would be acceptable.

Can't you read? I didn't say the OP can get a card. I corrected your factually incorrect statement because it's possible to get a credit card when you don't have an income of your own, and it's also perfectly possible to take benefit payments into account when furnishing providers with your income.Listen to shelf stacker..0 -
You can probably take 'some' benefits into account, but not benefits as a sole income..!
Why are you being a smart a$$ about it.. ?
The OP has come here asking for advice, it is pretty damn obvious he won't get a card, you are just trying to look clever.. nice one..BSC Member 155
