Superpap's positive mutterings about debt/savings...

Wow barny that looks amazing. I may have to pop into that store
~~~~~~~~~
So time to figure out a money challenge for the next year. So roughly a month my take home will be £400 before overtime. Thats hopefully after tax, ni and pension. So from november 15th 08 - november 15th 09 that should be a total of £4,800. So my monlthy outgoings are £217.00 without bus fare/mobile top ups/craft stuff. So technically I should have £183 left after paying for everything. I would love to save £100 of that so that leaves me with £83 for everything else ~ simple
So therefore my yearly challenge will be to live on £300 a month, therefore £3,600
that has to include everything, including gifts etc. Before I get payed on the 15th I am going to empty my accounts into my isa and start from there. No dobut I will have extra next month (as I will still be on full time wage) but thats fine as it will all go into savings and be forgotton about.
Right I have loaned mum £100 from my xmas money because she is on holiday this week. I will get that near my payday but thats fine as it will all be used for vouchers for xmas. So spent fo far on xmas £34.64 plus the £100 vouchers. Still to get is ~
mum ~ necklace and candles
mums oh ~ £5 bits
brother ~ £5 bits
lyn ~ £10 bits
So I guess another £100 tops, and I will be done.
I am off to bingo on thursday, yes me going out! Werid hey, but it will be fun, I am staying in all week so that will be my whole weeks spending on one day. I have also arranged to go to a craftstore on Saturday. I have never been to a 'proper' shop (ie not hobby craft/range/£1 shop) so I will be having a splurge and I have taken so money out of my savings for that. It looks very much like I will be working on my birthday this year and last year I gave myself my camera so this will be my present this yearSad I know but hey. It will also be my last splurge before I have to start my challenge :rotfl:
So thats me :beer:0 -
You sound so organised Pap- I so wish I was!! Good luck for your challenge, and don't feel guilty about having a splurge in the craftstore- you need a treat every now and then.0
Thanks steph, I try to be organised, it doesnt always work though. Cant wait for saturday, however I know it will be my last ever splurge :rolleyes:
All change for works gifts, I cant make cards this week, I dont know why but whatever I do will not workSo I am planning on getting them each a mug and filling it with hot choc/coffee/tea sachets. I have some sachets here and I could get some nice mugs in the £1 shop so that should be simple :j
Hi all, a tiny update from me. I went to bingo on thursday and although I didnt win it was fun. We maybe making it a regular thing. So I had some tea while I was out there and I also payed £5 travel costs. So I spent just under £25, not too bad eh.
So tommorow I am off to the craft store. I have found a voucher online for 10% off everything so that helps. After putting £10 petrol in the car I have £80 to spend. I do however have some more in my account that I am free to use but I am hoping the £80 should cover it all. I have made a list of things I defiantly want and the rest can be just spent as and when. So this will be my last craft spend (except glue) till at least January :eek: I have signed up for a swap (on a different forum) however so I will have to spend £15 on my partners gift but I should get something simmaler for my birthday :j
Nothing much too add really. Mums home so that is great :j she ahd a nice time and we have had a lovely evening mooching in her room doing nothing much :rotfl:
now must head for bed soon ready for tommorow :j0 -
Glad you enjoyed the bingo PAP & have a great day tomorrow.
I am back :j well I spent £74.50
and I did very well. They didnt have one thing in stock though so I will be ordering that from another shop with the spare money I have in my current account
We did stop at the garden centre on the way back and I spent £19 for the animal things for the month. so I have around £60 left for this item and then the remainder off the month :j
