Its ironic rog I am usually finished and wrapped by now :rotfl:but for once I am not really stressing about it. If I cant get presents for everyone tough, luckly it will just be family and they will just have to accept it.

Oh we will rog, well at least I hope so

I'm the same, not that it usually stresses me but this year the thought of thinking about it stresses me. I think it's the not knowing what I'll be doing in a month's time.

Good luck with the Xmas job hunt, start looking soon, a lot take on in Sep/Oct. My mum starts hers in Sep!

Mum will be the hard one but fingers crossed I can get something sorted. :rotfl: @ asda discount day, mum has already noted down my leaving date so she can stock up on cheap washing powder and toilet rolls :rotfl:

Gem dont stress I am sure it will be ok in the end.

    Hey Hun,

Just wanted to add in the retailers which generally recruit around september/ october time for xmas temps are: (from being sad AND working in retail!)

Argos, Woolworths, Next, HMV, Virgin/Zavvi, Debenhams, Boots, Fenwicks, Wilkinson, WHSmith, Halfords, Tesco, and most high street jewellers.

Already seen adverts go up in my local area for 5 of those names!

A lot of them now take online applications as well which are vetted by head office and then passed onto individual stores personnel teams. so easily done and sent off.

Hope the hunt goes well anyway and the days at current job are flying by!
    Take care xx

  • Thanks cafc gril. I have worked in argos before but I have seen adverts for hobbycraft xmas temps so I may try there. I want to also try sainsburrys and morrisons. At the moment I am not overly bothered if I dont get anything BUT if I get to the end of January with nothing I may become worried.

Well mum got the supervisor job :j Donrt know if I mentioned it here but I did on the daily spends thread. Before mum left her van job they were offering a supervisor postition but she couldnt apply as she had to be loyal to the van. Anyways she was notified the van would shut the day after clossing applications  Anyways after talking with a manager they gave her full time hours on the till no problems however the store manager wanted a supervisor application from her ~ even though it was late. Mum has been working as a supervisor for the last year anyways. So she had her interview but wasnt sure... anywyas she got it :j :j So now she will be on a little more than she was with the two jobs together.... Butr teh best thing she said to me was ~ ' I want you to make me a proper budget so I can save' :embarasse  thats the best thing I have heard this year!!! So next month will still be on p/t wages then as of october I have to make her a budget :rotfl:

Me I am doing well, work asked me to revoke my notice friday and I said no. Its not 100% because of the job or the place I work its because I am unwell and I need a change of scenery but somehow they dont quite understand that  Anyways other than that I am fine.

Not long till holiday :j :j

  • I'm fine thanks hun..... I really ought to sort my diary/money stuff out.... everythings just all over the place atm, mainly because work is so hectic, and when I get home/have a day off, I can't be bothered to do anything..... I shall be attempting to change my attitude from tomorrow though, I need to make some money!
