  • gem ~ just read your new diary. Well done on the massive step. I really wish you luck having no income... I am sure you can do it though :j off to post on your sparkling diary.

    babes ~ thanks :A

    ~~~~
    Right I did it, this morning everything came to a head and I phoned the doctors to make an appointment to get my depression sorted. Now bearing in mind I last saw a doc just after my car accident as they scare me, Its a huge step. I felt ashamed at what I was saying but at last I could just tell someone how I felt. Well lo and behold I have been placed on some tablets but if its for my own good I am happy.
    However I then walked over the road and spent £8.41 on junk food. However I havent eaten for nearly two days and hopefully I will have enough callories. If not I will have to get excercising :rotfl: have a feeling my fitness pig may be having the first feed though :o I know its not justified but having something to look forward to really helped me stick it out at the doctors... will update my diet sheets and see how I stand :p
    Thanks all for your contined support. You may not know it but it was reding my old diary and your kind words that helped me face the decision today :A
    Oh Pap - well done you for going to the doctors - that must have taken a lot of courage. Really well done. Nevermind the junk food, it's a one off and we are all allowed those - don't know where I'd be without the one-off's ;)
    Sending positive thoughts and hugs your way xxx
    fac ~ It was very very hard. But at the end of the day they are there to do a job and being mentaly ill is the same as having another disabilty/disease. I think last night and this morning really made it clear to me that I need to do this for myself if the doctor thinks I am mad so be it but I want to be better again. regarding teh junk food. Well I have hid the nuts and a bar of choc so I only ate an ice cream and some nougart and I still ahve 300cal for dinner :D
    sea ~ hug.gif to you too, your diary and your journey helped me too. Although I dont post I read it all and your courage has rubbed off :)
    Ohhh and at last I have found another friend, a work collegue. Fingers crossed this one lasts a little longer than my previous two but just letting someone in (in real life) has helped. She is an inspiration to me too so that helps. We are planning pub lunches and other activitys, I need to find my confidence and she said she will help me :j
    Just bear in mind that tablets can take a wee while to kick in.
    gREAT NEWS ABOUT THE dOC....... Woah, what happened there!?!
    As I was saying, great news about the docs hun, I know how hard it must have been for you to go, esp after the 'help' they gave you last time!!! Grrr
    And congrats on the new friend (how I can anyone not like you?:confused: I only met you once and think you are lovely!:) ) I think that, coupled with your new determination for weight loss will boost your confidence massively, which I suspect is the main trigger for your depression....?
    As a % of your income you pay more tax than practically anyone else in the country, they are PAID for by you for YOUR benefit. Without you paying for it there wouldn't be an NHS. And good for you :T - it's about building up a case history - play the game....
    Hey Pap, having a friend at work will help when it gets tough too. You can b*tch & moan about the other staff together and release some of the tension.
    Well done on plucking up the courage to see the doctor, that's what they're there for. The problem with depression is that people don't see it as a real illness, I be you're sick of people telling you to pull yourself together. I know from experience with my mums depression that it's not as simple as that!
    Everything sounds very positive as the moment, even with your momentary blip with the junk food you're not treating it as failing. You've had it, enjoyed it, and still on track with the diet.
    I'm glad too that you've decided to spend your money how you want for a while, after all it is your money now, not the banks anymore. When I am dept free I am going to spend for a month or two before I start saving, cos if I don't get it out of my system I'll end up 'treating' myself each week and end up spending it anyway.
    Big hugs Pap, keep at it you're doing great :T
