  • Gem, I dont have a blog myself I could never keep up with it :p But I love visiting others, the problem is I look at one, that links to another and so on untill an hour has passed.

Sarah, Well I was going to buy one so worth a try. The problem with these promotions are that no one prob drinks the amount of tea you need to get tehe free things. I only got my two monkeys because work gave me one and I brought one from ebay. Luckly I dont fancy the mug, we have enough of them already :p :rotfl:

Well my budgets are well and truely up the shoot  I know whats coming out but that doesnt tally with my bank   If I dont get a charge it will be a minor miracle :rotfl: I have £25 coming out of my bills account and £18.29 coming out of my spends account. Now whats in the banks dont tally though and I have now put a cheque in one account so that one is un readable at present. Oh and I have also lent my mum £18 for some paint and bits but that will be put back in on friday. Oh also I may not transfer the busniess money over before payday but I may buy mario kart before payday then replace it. I am planning to buy it anyways but I guess if I could get it wed/thurs then I can play it on my week off, whereas if I buy it on payday I have a 7 day week before I can 'properly' play it :D

Right new month this time next week (ish) and I want to try the % things... so I have been informed (by some of you lovely) that its 1/3 of your income for spends/bills (rent)/saves. So thats £250 for each catogory. Now at the moment I spend Bills ~ £226.00/Savings ~ £190.00/Spends ~ £87.00. Now I cant get anymore closer regarding the bills because thats what I spend, includes rent, house insurance, bt and bus cards. Savings are the new direct debits I have set up for next month plus £100 extra, so I need to send another £60.00 to them too. The spends are what I definatly spend each month, monthly card kit, stamping up monthly kit and £10 a week. So that all totals £563.00 so that then leaves me £187.00 spends (ish). Do you think this is ideal and will work for me?

Right I have two biggies coming up regarding spends. Holiday needs booking for september at the moment thast about £130/£160  (I will get about £70 from mum for this so its not all bad) and then in june I have my stamping up month. Basically its 10 people and each month we all order but each month is put under a different girls name so on that month they get a free gift and the free murchandise up to the value that was spent by everyone. :T Now obviously the more thats spent that month the better free gift and the more extra you have to spend free. So it makes sence to spend more that month. I usually spend £35~£40 a month anyways but I am hoping I could get this up to at least £100. At the moment each month is coming back with £350 spent, so roughly £35 spent each... so if I could spend that extra £65 I could raise it to the next level and get to spend an extra £45. :D So using mays money and junes money I need to have £35 kept back to use in june for this. Seems logical and fine I know £65 extra is a lot to spend however I work for the money so I should spend it as and when, as long as I save the £250 needed each month all is fine (in my eyes anyways). :j

Ohhh and I checked out 'whats the cost' the other day playing with the savings calculater over there. :D Now if I save £250 a month from now, putting that with what I have already at an interset rate of 4% (I know this isnt right but I think I have under estimated) in a years time I should have £3,768.43 :T woo hoo ~ here goes then :D

I have just read this as I do read your posts quite a lot. About your saving. You say you have an interest rate of 4%. Well, what I am about to ask is, do you have an ISA Savings account? If you havent then you are really missing out because you can save up to £3,000 (not sure of the exact figure) a year in an ISA and get tax free savings. If the £3,000 stays there then you carry on getting that rate and then you can save a further £3,000 the next year. You can get an instant access ISA so that you can withdraw the money at any time. If you do have one then I would say 4% is very low. You should be getting 5-6% with an ISA account. If I was you I would save up to the limit in an ISA and then put the remainder in another savings account. Have a look on this site for good ISA savings accounts.

Hi tes, Yes I do have an isa, I just put 4% in the calculater just 'beacuse'. I actually have 3 savings account. I have my locked one (matures september) which is 6.35% that will then (on mature date) go into one at 4.36% (this is never full), it has £5 in there as needed per terms and conditions, this is my floating account. Once any money over £5 is in there its put into my isa. My isa is 5% and you get £3,600 now cash allowance each year.

Once my locked saver matures it will be put into my isa :D Then I guess I will restart filling my loacked saver, I know I should use my isa allowance first but my locked saver I can not under any circumstances get that money out. Whereas my isa I can. The savings in my sig is spread out between my locked saver and my isa. To save my £10,000 over 4 years @ 4% I need to save £196.24 a month... so I should be fine. :D
