How's the walking going this week?
I know it's not MS but DS got some footie stickers made with his uploaded pic, his name and footie team from the mypanini site - very cute, might be something the boys would like. one of his dad's mates did it for him so not sure if there's a cost involved, not sure if Yeovil would be an available strip either...Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
Mortgage balance: £34,965
Money making challenge £78/400

Thanks for that, SS. :T
The young lad I take with us to the football was musing this on Saturday; how the Premiership clubs have their own sticker albums but not the lower leagues. Statistically, more people watch football in the Championship, League One and League Two than the Premiership so there may well be a call for sticker albums for each of those leagues. I need an hour in a quiet room to work out if it's a sound business idea or not...:rolleyes:0 -
I seem to have been really busy these past two days, too busy to post, sorry!
Right, yesterday! Worked in the morning then sat down at the PC and sorted out every piece of paperwork left in my "in" tray. All gone now. Downloaded the prep pack from the CCCS e-mail received so I'm 99% ready for the phone interview next Monday. Sorted out a couple of minor bills, rang the creditors with freephone numbers and felt 100% better for organising myself.
Went to football last night and spent the usual amounts on parking, programme, Golden Gamble, soup and bought a pint pre-match too. Total cost circa £11.90.
Today, did the morning and evening post runs plus went to London in between. Only a single job but they've booked me for next week too so another windfall next week. Spent £40.00 on petrol, £8.00 on congestion charge, £2.99 on a Meal Deal at Esso and £6.50 in Tesco's tonight...:eek:0 -
Paid the Virgin Media bill this morning ( £56 ). It would be £34 if I spent nothing as that's what my tv, broadband and home phone package costs. Next month, my aim is to get it below £50, then £45 and so on. I've finally set up a direct debit to save myself £60 a year in handling costs. Also paid £20 off my council tax arrears too...:D
Spent £32 on shopping including a fiver on a shirt and £3 on some socks.:D
Feeling good about the small changes I'm gradually making in my life to become a DFW one day.....:D0 -
Tsk tsk, you're already a DFW, debt free wanabee! but i knew what you meant!!
I'm not making much progress lately on my quest to be debt free. the numbers aren't going up, but they aren't going down by much either.
Incidentally i think you need a signature....
And i repeat, i fully expect to see you putting it about the boards a bit more!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I do try, Maz, but it's finding the time and the inclination...
Today was quite a low spend day. I'm going down to Dorset on Sunday to collect DS1 and DD1 to bring them up to watch DS2 and DS3 play football so will spend more then, I expect. Weather permitting, mind you...
Today, spent £15.00 on petrol ( Tesco's for my Clubcard points ), £3.74 on shopping and £3.00 on the boys' football training.0 -
It's been pouring with rain all day here so only went down to the shop for some milk, some football stickers and a lottery ticket, total spend around £5.50.
Managed to get a whole lot done in the house today. Moved the boys bookcase unit ( the one I removed from someone's garden ) across the front room; moved my CD tower into another corner and shifted all my football programmes into chronological order and on to a different unit, there's about 900 of them so no easy feat... . Got some more paperwork done too. I can't believe how organised I've become lately but I wanted to because the catalogues start again in two weeks time. I'm going to pick them up in bulk ( say 1,000 at a time ) and store them in my lean-to as I can then draw from them in my own time. This meant I had to clear the lean-to out as well which I've half-done, there was a nice table and four chairs ( Gumtree £15 ) in there which is now in my front room. Tomorrow's job is to clear out the area under the stairs in the litchen. This means the tumble drier can come into the kitchen from the lean-to creating more space still.:D .
Busy week next week with a pub quiz on Sunday night, my CCCS interview on Monday, London job again on Tuesday, down to proof-read the programme on Wednesday with skittles in the evening, go down to see DS1 and DD1 on Thursday and football on Friday. Add in four early morning post runs and three evening ones and it's another 800 miles next week.:eek:0 -
Ah well, it's all quiet again. The boys went back at 4.00pm today, their game was postponed but they asked their mum if they could stay longer. Had a good weekend with them again, I love having them stay over...:D . I can see headaches ahead though as they want to ask their mum if they can stay over an extra night a week, I'm not sure she'll believe that it didn't come from me.... . Hard saying cheerio for five days though...:(
Spent £2.10 on football stickers today and a few more pounds at the pub quiz tonight as well, I expect.0 -
Very cheap night at the pub quiz last night. Spent £2.50 on a pint when I got there and a pound entry fee and that was it. We came second and won eight free pints  and I drink really steadily so made my two pints last all night...:D
For me though, the night was somewhat overshadowed by an incident on the way there...:( I drove through town and saw a man on his hands and knees with his shopping strewn around. I stopped, picked him up, packed his shopping and him into my car and dropped him home as he was drunk. Got him into his flat then noticed he was bleeding from a head wound. He shut the door on me so I rang 999 and got an ambulance. Turns out he was an alcoholic with a pacemaker and on warfarin too. I was a bit unsure if I should have rung 999 but the paramedic said I'd done right.
Here's to a quieter day.

Aww sweetie, that was such a nice thing to do, A) pick him up and take him home and B)getting him an ambulance too, even though he may not have thanked you for it at the time.
