Boots Grabbit Bargains Part 19 - Post your finds here

:mad: Right, maybe i've got the wrong end of the stick here. Someone on freecycle kindly gave me 3 No7 pink vouchers. Went to Boots today & picked up 3 packs of No7 wipes and had 3 x No7 GWP 250 points on skincare voucher. Went to till and asked for 3 separate transactions and SA said that won't work as it is combining offers which isn't allowed. I gritted my teeth smiled politely and said please could you try. She scanned and the till DIDN'T beep. She then pressed something which then made the till beep, showed me ACM with points on and said "told you it wouldn't work". So i asked for my vouchers back and scuttled away fuming.
Should this have worked and did she deliberately make the till beep as i'm sure it went thro ok and she stopped it?
I need to try again as really want the points but don't think i can handle the humiliation. Would the ACM till machine have shown the points or have i been conned? HELP

I won't find it hard to not spend in Boots either, I'm not interested in the 17 things either. Must be one of the few who didn't get the last 17 GWP!!

I did't bother with it either. I did get the pallette before Christmas though, to put in my DDs Xmas stocking.

I didn't get it either....although I did look at it, but decided it wasn't really for me and didn't know who else I could give it to, so gave it a miss.

I don't know about the 250 point vouchers not working on No7 wipes, I haven't tried it, I would have thought it should, the wipes are skin care afterall. I know that even the SA's have said that there has been a lot of trouble with these vouchers and they usually just over ride them, I think they've had to over ride all of mine (only had 4 anyway!!)
It definitely wasn't combining offers though, the £5 voucher is not really an offer, you had to spend money to get it and it is the equivalent of cash and should be treated as cash as long as it is spend on the products it relates to, which is what you were buying.

Combining two offers together (points and money off) isn't normally allowed under the T&C on the vouchers, though often you'll find a SA who'll over-ride the till. Sometimes at the start of an offer too there will be glitches, then when these become apparent the tills will be reprogrammed to disallow these.


Just try again somewhere else. Tip: do it with just one set first. Then if it's allowed you can go round again. Sometimes it's the look of you being "greedy" (in the SAs eyes, not mine!!) that triggers the unco-operative streak in an SA!

Yes, that's the theory, but a lot of SA's think it's two offers in my experience and have had to over-ride the till "just this once" for me.

And I recall a SA being totally insistant that a Sanctuary toner wasn't facial skincare, according to the till, despite it saing "facial" on the bottle!!

sorry a few more questions....i need to take back no 7 micro dermabrasion exfolitor, as i used a £5 no 7 voucher will i just get £5.50 back, not £10.50? (or an exchange to that value) also i got the gwp, will they accept the exfoliator back without the gwp? would it be better for me to say ive forgotten my receipt, i wanna keep my gwp!!:o thanks

Someone mentioned the other day about getting to know the No7 SA's ... wish I could find the post but cannot. So I did as that poster recommended this morning ....

The SA was lovely ... I told her I had all these pink £5 voucher's and also the 250point ones and could they be used together?; she said yes and put through all my stuff as seperate transactions. Totally made up cos I have some extra goodies and got 1000 exra points which I would otherwise not have used.

This was Cribbs, Bristol. Also should mention that the Arden counter had their bronzing range (think it was last summers range) all reduced ... got a nice lip balm for £2.25.

Lots of the pink boxes still left ..... and plenty of magazines too at the tills

... noticed an offer on the Boots site yesterday and it comes with a free Sancturay gift bag. None is store and this store new nothing about it. Does anyone know if that is just an online offer?
