Part of the Furniture Name Dropper Combo Breaker Bake Off Boss!
have you tried the demotivator tool at all?

for example, £6 a week on starbucks is £312 a year or £1560 over 5 years!

also, find yourself a good charity shop - one of mine has loads of once-read nearly-new chick lits for 35p each!

    keep up the good work

As free listing on ebay this weekend for auction items, i am literally dragging all of my clothes, shoes, crap etc out and listing as much as I can. OH has piles of stuff that we have been listing but absolutely loads to go. Lots of old baby clothes to sell so washing machine has been going non stop so its all clean and ready to photograph. :D Feel like Dot Cotton! So it will be a low spend weekend as won't get the chance to go out!

My fitbug pedometer came today to tie in with pru health care. should be 84 quid but got for 15. have been walking every lunch and can earn points to bringing my premium down by doing 10,000 steps. have been at gym too so gym will cost me nothing from may onwards! :j

Got electricity statement, v high but is estimated so will check meter tomorrow which will hopefully bring down.

So its ebay mission weekend! Just up so breakfast then three trips to garage to get tyres sorted for OH while he gets all the ebay stuff together. Hopefully this will get rid of a load of stuff which is cluttering the house. :j

Really got to start comping again too. Spent a couple of weekends doing it but nothing off postie yet. Figured if I won anything, unless i really really wanted, it would go on ebay.

    OK here goes!

Ebay mission is going v well. :D Apart from nearly all my nails are broken from dragging stuff out in garage. Mammoth listing tonight then should be done for a while. When we moved in together, we had a v small flat so was a nightmare. House we bought is still v small but have garage which is godsend. My incentive is to get rid of everything we don't need (there is absolutely loads!) so we can be debt free and buy a bigger house and be able to afford the mortgage. ;) Can't stop myself going onto rightmove and seeing 'perfect' houses but no! Next summer hopefully. It will take us that long to decide on area anyway, we both want opposite sides of the city!

Really want three bed semi so he has room for new business and room for OH's ds when he comes to stay. The thought of that has really spurred me on to become debt free and clutter free! :T

I swear if OH stands still long enough he will be photographed and listed as used but in good condition, pick up only. :shhh:

Good day today, lots listed and garage now v tidy.

Feel so tired now and still have online food shop to do! Will do quickly and then bed I think. Have that 'sunday night feeling'.

When quiet tomorrow at work, I am going to have a look at my money spreadsheets and get them all organised with targets/goals to properly sort myself out. I am mystery shopping, AQAing etc but feel I am not really achieving anything so need a proper plan of action! :o

Well its meant to be 80mph winds here tonight so fingers crossed all the trains are cancelled in the morning and stranded, unfortunately not able to get to work. Only kidding!

Thank you! Fingers and toes are crossed! Hope you found the incentive to get your money spreadsheet done. I did mine 90% and I feel quite chuffed with myself. :j

Just ventured out to tesco, such awful weather here! Woke up this morning to all trains cancelled and tree on the line. Typical! Thought was never going to get there. Hopefully not too bad tomorrow. I hate turning up soaked to skin and then hair mental all day.....

Was quite careful with shop, came to 72 but got lots and covers me and OH's lunches for week and lots of cleaning stuff. Couldn't resist the big cookies on my way out. OH had put petrol in yesterday so will last me rest of week which is v good. :D

Phoned Scottish Power today and gave proper meter readings. We owe 234 and pay 106 DD a month. Absolutely unbelievable for our tiny house. It seems that OH likes it shall we say 'tropical' when he's working I come home to stifling heat and the windows open?!! So he has been told more layers or else.

    Debt-free and Proud!
hi. I just read that you split the bills half and half but your OH eanrs more than you. Me and h2b have decided when we get married and live together we will split it according to proportions on what we earn (see below). Can you do this? It is much fairer and would free up some cash for you to pay your loans (which has to be a good thing).

Anyway, we are going to do it like this:

add up all bills and this is A
    h2b's wages are B
    mine are C

So, add up B and C, to get D, then work out what percentage of D, B is, and therefore what percentage C is

EXAMPLE: if h2b earns 600 and I earn 400, his percentage of total wages (1000) is 60 per cent and mine is 40 per cent.

So he will then pay 60 per cent of the bills, and i will pay 40 per cent.

We have included annual bills for both of us (cars etc) as joint bills, and the relevant proportions of those will go into savings for when we need them.

We've also allocated equal percentages of wages for savings, and what is left is ours to spend as we wish.

It is a much fairer way of doing it and I think it is something you should consider.
