Quite a good start as only the 2nd March. Doing a massive ebay listing today, have loads ready to put on. Have free bingo running in background, not going too well!

As OH earns more than you & uses your car quite a bit, why dont you ask for a contribution besides petrol? Does he give you anything else towards it?
Seems unfair somehow.
XXTallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
I would........but he does all repairs/servicing free of charge (only ever have to pay for actual MOT). Car had loads of problems arise just after bought and he sorted them all for me. He is a handy taxi service now and again too! 5k repair which BMW quoted me, he managed to get for 1k and car is now perfect. Fingers crossed!
Just saw your signature, well done on the smoking, amazing how much you save! OH is just about to have hypnotherapy to kick his 20 year 20 a day habit.Make £10 a day challenge - £21.00/£290

Call me old fashioned but if my OH new how to fix car that wouldn't mean he shouldn't pay towards the loan. I wouldn't charge him for doing his laundery. Does he know about your debt problems?
Well done on posting and good luck.Official DFW Member no:4100 -
Thank you! Yes, he does. Had a bit of a rant the other night. He didn't realise I still had student loan so was like ohhhh I see why you are bit on edge?! He is v busy as getting business on its feet after going self-employed so I have been listing loads of stuff he wants to sell on Ebay. I get a cut for listing it and posting. The charging for laundry could be an idea though.... along with ironing, washing and picking up towels from the bathroom floor.....Make £10 a day challenge - £21.00/£290

Hi Skye_27! Well done on trying to get your money problems sorted. Looks like we've both just started around the same time as I've just posted my SOA today. I also live in London..this is an expensive place!! I've been given lots of helpful advice and support so far, looks like you have too. I'm just trying not to be overwhelmed with too many changes and trying to stay in it for the long haul. Good luck0

Hi Meema! I was just looking at your first point when noticed you have posted on here! You're telling me...........I lived in Glasgow before moving down and I moaned about money then. Best of luck to you too.Make £10 a day challenge - £21.00/£290

personally, i would only pay the minimum required on your student loan. there is no need to make overpayments until you have no other debts what-so-ever. use the extra £100 a month towards your loan/credit card payments. don't forget the 0% offer will run out at some point!
find a cheaper supplier of broadband and gas/electric. also, to save on electric, buy energy saving bulbs and don't leave things switched on when they are not being used (TV not in standby, even the kettle, microwave and toaster!). you'll be amazed how much your bills will reduce by just doing little things like that!Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015

Yes I think I am just desperate to get rid of student loan, going to switch 100 repayment to Barclaycard repayment.
Broadband is only 11 a month, part of package with Virgin in with TV and homephone. We are cancelling family package as we only really watch the freeview channels. Just hope cartoons are still there as OH's ds will go mad when he comes to stay!
I am normally good when comes to sockets, although I am forever forgetting to switch off mobile charger. I have been nicking work's elec to charge up my ipod!
NSD today. Been on a mad ebay frenzy. Haven't even bought my normal News of the World! (I buy obviously for Martin's column) Not remotely interested in gossip.............:o Lol.Make £10 a day challenge - £21.00/£290
