Does Any Body Know If I Can Have Wiped Off From My Credit Card The £350 Which They Allowed Me To Go Over My Credit Limit While I Was On Holiday. I Was Relying On Them Declining My Card When I Was Up To My Limit, Any Info Would Be Great Thanks.gavin

Actually Its Not A Wind Up, Thought I Might Get Some Advice Im Not A Fool And Do Pay My Debts, I Just Think If They Allow You To Go Over Your Credit Limit, Its Their Fault And Certainly Should Nt Charge You £12 A Month. And Whats Wrong With Writing In Capitals, Do You Have A Phobia About Capital Letters?dont Bother Replying To This As I Dont Intend To Log On Ever Again. I Suggest You Turn Your Pc Off And Go Outside And Join In Real Life Instead Of Sitting In Front Of Your Pc, Trying To Be Sarcastic To People You Know Nothing About.0

Ah i see, so it's thier fault that you didn't check your balance & stay within your limit?0 -
Right, I'm a relative newcomer to this but some of the questions that are being asked recently by newbies is really getting on my nerves....I appreciate that this is a forum and advice is exchanged but it seems to be a huge shift towards a newbie "I don't know what the hell's going on" advice drop-in centre....post once and then ask for free from...is it just me or has it always been like this?
This question may have been legit but hell's bells - I'd be embarrassed to come up with that one let alone ask it!For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
In case it's a genuine question....
your transactions abroad don't necessarily show up straight away in your account at home, sometimes they trickle through a week or more later. which is why it's up to you to monitor your spending and keep it under the limit. If it's a first time offence you can ring them up and plead with them and they might waive the fee but otherwise you'll have to swallow it I'm afraid.0 -
I think it might be better to just point the OP in the general directions of the terms & conditions he agreed to when he signed up for a credit card. They usually state quite clearly that it is the account holders responsibility to make sure they stay within thier credit limit.
There's a certain irony in someone who does not accept reponsibility for thier own spending habits telling other people to get out & join the real world innit?0 -

I may only be a newbie, but there seems to be a number of people who think the purpose of this forum is to help people escape their debts, rather than repay them, or that "Consumer revenge" means screwing over anyone who isn't a fellow little guy.
Case in point: one guy on the current accounts forum £300 over his O/D limit and wanting interest and charges back on it; another guy on this forum wanting to max out fifteen credit cards and then evade the debt by running away to Asia for six years until it isn't (by his thinking) legally actionable. Why should any of us on here condone either? If it were one of us owed £350 quid by a mate, and he asked you to forgive it... well you wouldn't just say "OK" would you!?
To the OP: call your credit card company, ask for what you want and when they've stopped laughing their ****s off tell us what they said.0 -

I blame Martin in saying no question is stupid.0 -
My apologies, Shelfstacker...you're no newbie! I am sorry if you felt I was meaning you - you've done some quality posts!...I'm still new to this but there is some tripe being asked from people who I'm guessing will just post once, take the advice of the good folks on here and then disappear until their next crisis....
I can't imagine them sticking around to help others and I think that's a little sad and selfish. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070
