Thanks jtb2412 for your suggestions what to buy in France. I shall keep my eyes for any bargains as long as I don't go over my 20 kilogrammes luggage allowance, but that shouldn't be a problem I tend to be a light traveller.
Well done for having £75 left on your food budget, that's impressive.

I've had quite a productive day today. Have made my potato and leek bake (with bacon bits
), leek and potato soup, celery soup (made with the flowery ends that you can't eat
), have also tried Mrs Mc's meaty stuffing - i've padded it out a bit with more sausages (that i snaffled from the buffet last night;) ), more bread and a stock cube. I used far too much water so have saved some of the stock to make gravy to go with it - I'm passing it off as 'sausage pie':rotfl: Also made the 'leftover pud' that I can't remember who posted it, it's a kind of variation on apple crumble, we will have that for afters so I'll let you know how it goes.
Decided to go to Mr T's and do my shopping as we needed bread and milk anyway. Spent £20.80 so am quite pleased with that, it includes 2kg of mince, 2 pks chick thighs/drumsticks, hot dogs and corned beef so I should be able to stretch that until the end of month (well maybe....)
Will update my sig and then off to get tea ready as the poor children are starving;) :rotfl:Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Becky, you're welcome. I didn't think about the luggage allowance - just presumed you would be going in the car - I tend to do that sometimes (not engage my brain !)
Weather is ok here too (although we're on the South Coast so should be fun later !):jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Afternoon all
Well i have had an enforced NSD today -nowhere opens on a Sunday
Hubby will be leaving at about 8pm -off on exercise until Friday evening..which means this weeks meal plan has been abandoned..and i will be just cooking to suit myself.... so im going to do my best to use up some odds n sods..as the freezers are packed to capcity...infact the one above the fridge is like a game of JENGA .... trying to remove on item without causing a mass landslide is quite interesting :rotfl: .....
So if i mention that i have spent anything before Friday (when i will replenish the salad stuff i have eaten through the week) please form a queue and SLAP me...
Made a veg and cornedbeef puff slice for yesterdays dinner and there is still a piece left with roasties n baked beans..so thats tomorrows dinner sorted for me
Today has been roast chicken, roasties, HM stuffing, broccoli cabbage n peas... so i won't be wanting anything more than fruit n yoghurts tonight..
Whislt hubby is away im going to make some bread from part -white, granary, spelt flour and lots of seeds, some more bread sticks for when he gets back with the munchies
Think im also going to have a sort out of my herb n spice cupboard..have quite a lot, so need to sort out what others i want to pick up next month..
oh EGON.. went out for a drive with hubby and found that ASIAN supermarket ..right on the chunk of road i thought it would be on :T .. we didn't stop.. as im waiting until April starts and setting my budget according to how much they have that i want :rotfl: ....a plus point is that there is a JIBI right next door -which is where hubby has his beer from -so he can use that branch next time and i will go in the ASIAN shop..alone -which means i will dilly dally up n down every aisle...heaven
have a great evening everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi guys, sorry have not been as regular a visitor to this thread this past week or so, v busy at work. Which is good in that I haven't been near any shops until yesterday anyway. I managed to spend around £20 although this included costs for cooking a nice meal for some really good friends and we had a lovely night together so worth every penny. I'll update my sig later on but feel roughly on track depending on how Easter goes of course.
Hope things going well for all of you, this thread is moving so fast this month that I have no hope of keeping up but will look forward to seeing the totals at the end...0 -
Hi all
I really enjoy reading everyones posts it really motivates me and gives me lots of ideas.
I have a target budget of 100 p/w for 2 adults and 3 children (or locusts as we like to call them!!) we were spending around 120 p/w before the budget
Last week i spent 77.30. It was my first week at uni and i did a last min night shift on fri as well, so i spent an extra 10.00 on top:rolleyes: = 87.30
Today i have just spent 96.53  at Mr M. I had a bit of a shock when i got to the counter as i thought it would be less, then to top it all i found i had left my card at home:rolleyes:
I am determined not to spend any extras this week, and hope that next week we can use the food we have in. I seem to have built up a bit in the freezer and cupboards.
I have done a rough food menu for the week, planning is really helping to keep the spending down.
It is calm and sunny here in cheshire .....perhaps the calm before the storm ??
