Hi all, big batch cooking day today. Just made a lovely filling for beef and onion pies. Wondering now what kind of pastry would work well with them. Ideally I'd like them to be individual portioned ones, a bit like a pasty. Might go on a forum search. Or feel very free to post me any ideas!

betterlatethannever- I just freeze the uncooked cookie dough rolled into a fat sausage. Then slice it into rounds before baking later. HTH

    Love and waves to all.

    Hi everyone

I keep putting off adding up what I have spent already on food, but I will do it. We have been a bit mad lately buying all sorts for the house (techy stuff) but we are savvy shoppers so everything we got was the cheapest around.......

I have done my shop (Tesco) for tommorrow so will report back once it's been delivered.

I am going to have a big overhaul of all our budgets actually as I think I have gne a bit off the rails with it all, not just shopping.

I just popped into M&S to have a drool - don't buy much there these days but was passing. ~They have a 'value' mince at £1.49 for 500gm which seemed quite decent to look at so I bouight 2 packs as I had 2 £1 &more coupons in my purse:j Not often you could make 2-3 family meals for 98p at M&S is it!! (or even more but I'm not that frugal yet - give me time)

The sun is beautiful here but tonight will be an experience:eek:

Hope everyone survives the storms tonight OK.

Not updated for a bit - have just done a top-up shop of milk, cheese, frozen veg, potatoes and garlic. Totted up my total and I've spent £41.29 out of my £45 budget with ten days left till I get paid again. Shouldn't really need anything till next weekend, I'll have to plan very carefully what to spend my £3.71 on - likely to be cheese, tuna and toilet roll! :o

Thought I ought to update for the week.

Have spent more than I'd like at this point - £145.77 out of £175 - but I've been stocking up, and should only have cooked meats, a bit of cheese and fruit & veg to buy for most of the month now.

    :)

Instead of going shopping, I didn't really NEED to when I sat and thought about it, I've spent most of the afternoon moving things so they don't get damaged, sealing things etc. Thankfully our bin gets emptied in the morning but I am putting it into a corner so it doesn't get blown over and I don't have to clean up everything, hopefully.
One day I might be more organised...........
