This is the first ever challenge I've taken part of on MSE so wish me luck!
Could you please put me down for £200 for March please? That's for two adults, one toddler, one cat and one hamster! *lol*November Grocery Challenge - £300 - Total so far £0.000 -
Popped into Sainsburys earlier today (needed a few bits for the kids packed lunch) and managed to grab one of their Taste the Difference Ducks (which, incidentally are half price per kg at the moment) - was reduced to just over £5 and since we love duck but can rarely afford it, I bought one ! Can't wait until next weekend now :j !
So, another £11.66 to add to the total (also got double nectar points so not feeling too bad about buying the duck now!)
Payday is a week on Thursday so nearly the finishing line for us and I still have about £75 left of the budget, so doing well. I've impressed myself  !:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Hi everyone!
Hope you all have had a nice weekend. I have had a very productive Sunday, I have made gammon and lentil soup which should last over the next few days, also done my homemade muesli to last for at least 2 weeks and I have just boiled the eggs for my sandwich to be eaten for lunch tomorrow.
So far, I have done very well budgeting wise. I have got £13.97 left, but my small freezer is full, to last until the end of the month but I am due to go on holiday next Sunday for a week so hopefully I shall just go even this month.
I am off to France on holiday, does anyone know if French cheeses and French coffee is cheaper in France than it is in the UK? If it is, I shall stock up on that while I am away.
Good luck to you all with the March Food challenge.
BeckyNo toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Hi Becky
Having just done a booze cruise (not included in the monthly budget I might add - we saved up for it !) I can probably recommend you get the following if you want to save some money:
Washing powder (tablets aren't much different in price over there).
Fabric conditioner
Cheeses
Meats (extremely cheap in the hypermarkets but good quality - about 20 pork chops for 11Euros !!!)
Wine and beer (goes without saying!!)
Personally, I wouldn't bother with the coffee (seems to be about the same price as UK - Jars) - I'm not keen on their ground coffee and i'm a huge coffee fan, but other people might like it.
Hope you have a nice time next week xx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Beautiful day here(Mid-Wales),sunny ,blue skies,red-tailed kites wheeling over head.
Washing nearly dry on the line,DS and fiancee just left to go to their home, all the beds changed and every where tidy again. We do love seeing them both AND there are no 'buts'.
Spend so far £104 and a few pence, not so bad, can't possibly shoe-horn anything else into freezer,so it had better be meal planned out.
Keep well all
