    hello everyone :hello:
I've just updated my signature. This week's shop came to £67.31 so was less than I expected:j and it included 2 large easter eggs and loads of stuff for my baking cupboard. I can finally make some millionaire's shortbread now! :D
This leaves me £115.69 of my budget for next week's shop. I'm gonna try and see if I can do that shop for about £65 which will mean I will be under budget by £50!:j

Today I've spent £2.64 on 8 pints of milk, so now I'm officially over budget :( I'm going to try and just buy milk til the end of month (Tues next week for me) looks like it's jam sandwiches for lunch boxes, lol.

I was thinking that I might do a big monthly shop and have it delivered and then buy just fresh stuff throughout the month.

    Evening all

Savingfortravel... i would pack that jumper -just in case ;) ... i would bring layers too as at the moment i get up -we have snow, an hour later its glorious sunshine..a bit later we have snow.. its all over the place at the moment..so its coat on, coat off :rotfl:

If you are anywhere near a supermarket you should be fine...most have lovely bakery stands, cafe type places with lovely salad boxes and if you go into the supermarket bit..the range of food is amazing ...places like "REAL" supermarket have beautifull sushi.. oh and in supermarkets the range of fish n seafood is usually really good -but sometimes expensive..
Hope you have a great time.. i love this place :p

EGON.... :iloveyou: ....guess where i popped in today? that Asian shop you found for me ..hubbies fault-we were heading out that way so he suggested having a look to see if it was going to be of use to me .... oh my god :j
Best of all the guy in there speaks good English :T ....and a lot of the writting on the packets is in English too :D the prices are brilliant... i was looking at kilo boxes of huge raw tiger prawns for about €10 a time .... the range of flours was amazing and only 99c a bag... I actually had to stop myself from buying things that i don't even know what to do with yet :rotfl: ..thought i had better research them first :p ... I will definitely be making a return trip :D .... I did hang my nose over a wok that was obviously for a restaurant...it was big enough to bath kids in - but i walked away-eventually
Did see the small cans of coconut milk 165ml i think that are an ideal size for me n hubby -at just 45c :T ....the only thing we did see that made us laugh was boxes of 120 pg tips for €9.99  £7.50 :rotfl: so i don't think i will be getting them ;) thank you soooo much for pointing me in the right direction :D

Whilst we were out i did top up the fruit n veg n bits...will update signature in the morning but i was amazed that 1kilo of the lovely thin leeks were only 79c..about 56p.... after reading about how much everyone is having to pay for them in the UK i was gob smacked...
hope everyone is having a good evening....

Went nowhere near a shop to-day so spent nothing...we had stir-fried pork tonight for dinner, with home made naan...getting fond of naan bread...find that my cast iron frying pan on fairly high heat cooks them really fast, just cook what I want and save the rest for another day.

Going to try that bread you gave the recipe for Weezl...hate kneading and not mad about bread maker either so sounds ideal for a lazyboots like me. €63.54 left until 31st, need some meat for Easter, milk and fruit and veg so it will be tight...one freezer empty, working on the other.

    Hi everyone
We had pasta with the left over blended sauce from last night's sausage casserole, it was really tasty - will be doing that again! Anyway went to asda and got 1 birthday cake for DD to take to nursery, wrapping paper, disposable camera for nursery to take pics, birthday girl badge, doritas!, creme frais and sour cream, napkins, just short of £14. Still got main cake to buy and other grocery items before the end of month - me's thinking I aint gonna make it this month :(. Nearer the end of the month I'm going to stock up on cravendale and lurpak for April (offers end 25th mar in MrT), but that will come out my April GC budget in advance - is this sensible to start the next GC already down on my total? What do you all do if you see a good offer for the next month?
Can't believe my baby girl will be 4 tomorrow
Trying so hard not to rush out and buy stuff for all your tasty recipes - determined to wait until April.
Jackie - I meal plan week to week, I find it easier this way, also have only got a wee freezer and fridge and kitchen is really small also, so can't really stock pile for a month.
Anyway will go as we have balloons and streamers and pressies to sort before bed.

MrsM I just wanted to say thanks again for the tortilla recipe:T . I just used the dough balls that I defrosted last night and they rolled out even bigger than the fresh ones did. I made Quesadillas (I think that's what they're called) by placing one in a frying pan, topping with the last bits of cheese I had in the fridge and a squirt of tomato puree and then topping with another tortilla. It was really yummy and filling(and cheap) :)
Well done everyone that's doing well this month:T :T and ((((((hugs)))))) those who aren't.

Nikki, my DD loves these made with chilli sauce instead of tomatoes. I'll need to make some this weekend :D
  • Just updated my sig. I've now spent £73.12 out of my £120 budget. Had to restock on honey, peanut butter, yoghurts and milk.

Having cannelli bean soup for lunch and tuna and pasta bake for tea. I've taken them out of the freezer.

Need to do a freezer list and do a menu plan for Thursday onwards. I'm definately doing MrsMs tortillas for this weekend.
