thanks for the tip weezl any idea how long offer is on for as probably wont be anywhere near an Asda till next week

not sure really, it's not listed as a special offer, they're calling it a 'roll back' which I think is a more static price change than a special offer which can be removed at any time...

Anyone browsing who works in asda care to shed any light?

Ooh I forgot to mention earlier, I had a go at the basic cheese making last night - only had about half a pint of milk left so I ended up with the silliest little amount of cheese :rotfl:It was a bit tasteless so I think I need to experiment with flavour, but it had a nice feta-like texture. Definitely has potential!

just did a google search on asda roll back, and according to the Telegraph:
'The extra reductions are part of Asda's Rollback programme, which permanently reduces prices on core products...'

so that seems to mean it'll always be this price. Good times!:T

  • hi chickenpie,
whats your recipe for vegetable soup ?? only one i have made was leek and potato.

Hi findingmyfeet, I just cut into small pieces, 1 butternut squash, about 4 potatoes, 3 onions, a leek, about 6 sticks celery, 6 skinned tomatoes, some cabbage and a couple of carrots. Cooked in some olive oil for a few minutes to lightly soften them, then i covered the veg with boiling water and added a veg stock cube. I also added a good handful of soaked lentils (I buy the 'soup and broth' mix). Then just simmered until the veg and lentils were all cooked and then blitzed a bit with my stick blender so it is not so lumpy. DS likes to have this for lunch with buttered toast to dip in, so its easier to eat if I blitz a little first. Nice healthy lunch for me too! You can use any vegetables that you have got in, the list above was just what I had in the fridge, I put different stuff in each time- depends what needs using up. Hope that helps, Chicken Pie x
