I could.. but the trouble with the pub is it's casual as and when needed hours... so the shifts there and parties may end up clashing.. PLUS I've got argos as well..newmoneysaver wrote: »Hi Sar,
Are you able to combine the hours worked at the pub with the hours at Ann Summers to make up the 16hrs needed?

Sarah, I sould go with what you feel comfortable. It is a shame the pub isnt set hours, but again doing the pub and ann summers may be a problem. You have to decide whats best for you and the family.0

You worry too much, it's casual pub work - they are offering no commitment and probably have a big list of people they call when they need people, they won't take it personally... everyone has family commitments, weddings, birthday parties, commitments, a life, so couldn't be expected to work at relatively short notice everytime they ask... they probably scrabble around looking for people a lot so may well be grateful for the times you can - on evidence so far they've you to work less than one shift a week it may well just be a nice little top up to bump up the hours... .besides there are all the other B-plans...0 -

The truth, it's their job to make sense of it... you are paying tax, the country apparently needs a 'flexible' approach to labour, it's not like you are sitting on your a^se teaching your kids to make rollies...immoral_angeluk wrote: »True.. but what the hell do I tell tax credits if I do start doing it?
You can average hours over quite a long period, several weeks (ask on the tax credits board) but if you are making the 16 hours on average and legally claiming - they should sort it out since this [STRIKE]exploitative crack-pot[/STRIKE] 'flexible' casual labour model seems to be national policy.0 -
MY worry is that even though it's casual they'll still drop down our tax credits so our budget will be screwed..

Just seen you need a printer. We have one going spare that you are welcome to have. It is brand new, never been unboxed (we got it free from BT for something or other but don't need it!) It is a wireless Lexmark Z1420. I have no idea if it is any good or not, it's been in the box for a year or so. PM me if you want it - we're not too far away from you, so it shouldn't be a problem to collect (hopefully!)0

Is there anyone on the tax credits board with experience - this must be fairly common. It's frustrating how p1ss poor this system is if anyone actually tries to work or aspires to work their way up...immoral_angeluk wrote: »MY worry is that even though it's casual they'll still drop down our tax credits so our budget will be screwed..
