  • Tibetan Education & Relief Association sponsors the education of poor children (some orphans) in Nepal and India. As far as I know it's the only charity which doesn't have any admin and staff costs - it is run by volunteers who pay all expenses themselves, and don't accept a salary.

They have a website and also a FB page.
  • Hi I'm thinking of sponsoring a child with plan uk can you tell me if you used the uk one thanks
  • I've just signed up with Action Aid. They say 80% of their money goes abroad. What I liked was their bias to support gender equality, education for girls, challenging violence towards women. I was also concerned to support a girl in a country which is relatively stable politically, as I want to believe my donation isn't likely to be undermined by terrorism/genocide/persecution. Thanks for all contributions to this site which helped me decide.
