Hi poppyscorner,
My daughter was like your son a few months ago, I was advised to get fluids into her by using a 5ml medician spoon. I had to give her 5ml's of water every 15 minutes for 2 hours then after that 5ml's every 10 minutes for an hour then 5ml's every 5 minutes. The reason for this is a childs stomach can't handle too much fluid so vomits, when you give small amounts like above the stomach absorbs it faster so hench fluids stay inside them. It takes a long time and can make you worry but that's what I had to do and it worked for her. Hope it helps and hope he feels better soon.:o0 -

In the past, I have phoned NHS Direct 08454647 before speaking to my surgery. NHS Direct will often fax the surgery for you to get the child seen quickly.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Hope he's feeling better today. My DS used to get lots of ear infections when he was a baby - and his eardrum even perforated once, which was grim at the time. It was miserable at the time to see him in so much pain, and unwell but he did grow out of it by the time he was about 2. To have it with teething pain as well is doubly nasty!0

I wonder if the doctor was made aware you'd been back on the phone asking to be seen sooner, or if it was the receptionist making the decision? Might be worth finding out-our surgery books "telephone consultations" for uncomplicated enquiries with the GPs. If yours does this, it'd be worth speaking to the GP to find out if he/she is aware0
