Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

That's your choice, if you've requested your CCA, and they have failed to provide it with the allocated time-scale, legislation states "They cannot pursue you for payment"

Hello, Problems seem to have started with MBNA denying they have recieved any letters (even though you may have proof of delivery). Be careful with them, and if they start acting up - ie you receive threats despite asking for CCA etc - PLEASE post.
They cannot be trusted (but can any of these shabby firms?)0 -

We sent a request and then a follow up request and they denied they had received the letters when they called. Six weeks after the second letter, they replied so I think that must be snowed under.0 -

MBNA can 'deny having received the cca request' as much as they like. Provided that the debtor can prove that they have received it, then the clock starts counting from that date.
It is not the debtor's fault if MBNA's internal systems are disorganised - indeed, MBNA have a 'duty of care' to ensure that they can work within the framework of legislation.
Personally, I think that they find it 'more convenient' to state that they have not received communications when those communications do not suit them.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
