I have reported each DCA to trading standards each time previously in particular AIC. Trading Standards sent me 'standard letters' acknowledging my complaint. Do trading standards have any real teeth?

You sometimes have to keep on at them, but they 'can' show their teeth - have a look at the article that blueforyou posted yesterday:

They (OFT) certainly seem to be watching the 'dodgy' debt collection industry at the moment - probably because of the credit crunch.

I did a request from Fredrickson last year in April, sent them all the relevant letters including the 12+2+30 which was before the law changed. Now they have sent me an agreement - which I recieved today. Next move from here would be what? Thanks in advance

Firstly - have you checked that the 'agreement' that they sent you is a true copy the original executed cca and that the terms are compliant with the requirements of the Consumer Credit Act, 1974?

  • M&S being a nightmare. they claim to have no complaints proceedure, no nothing of CCAs and are still piling on charges etc.
They are starting to make Halifax look friendly. Their only tactic when you phone is to be rude and repeatedly say you are shouting while ignoring everything you say anyway.
We did get a callback which we were told we should be grateful for and won't get another as we were not in to answer it.

Can I post it so someone else can check as well as me - would rather have another person check in case I miss something

I'm about to start doing my DMP on my own. How far have people gotten with requesting CCAs? Anyone past the 3rd letter stage?
I suppose DCAs are easier then say credit card companys.

If any debts become unenforceable will the creditors default me?

By all means, scan and post it on this thread - just remember to remove any personal details first.

They are not, legally, allowed to enter a default whilst they themselves are 'in default'.

However, many dcas tend to 'ignore' this 'small technicality' and carry on with defaults regardless - if this appens, then there are ways of dealing with it.

I think my 2 defaults are from being past to DCAs anyways.
