It looks exactly like my Toshiba. Well almost, there's a couple of buttons on my Tosh and seemingly just one of this. My Tosh doesn't have DVB-T tuner (aka Freeview) though. If it is the same tube (and if the majority of the gubbins are the same) then it'll do 60Hz - I say *if* as like I say, it isn't exactly the same TV.

Could anyone test this out for me please? Hook something like a dreamcast or PS2 up to it and load a game, it should give you the option to play in either 50hz or 60hz, choose 60hz and see if you get a normal picture. That'd be the major thing I'd be using this TV for, so if you only get a black and white fuzzy picture from 60hz then it's no good for me :(. Thanks in advance to any kind soul who'd try this for me.

went to Sainsburys last night to buy the Beko (1 still in stock in Newbury Park) but ended up buying Panasonic 28" Flatscreen with stand £189.99 and can recommend this - Perfect picture but very heavy (dislocated my knee whilst moving it!!!)

Don't suppose you know the model number do you?

Having missed the Bush I was looking at a Philips for £200 @ Tesco - this Panasonic sounds good though.

Purchased the Bush 28" yesterday at Hedge End, but seem to be having probs with the screen size set-up.

Analogue set-up all ok - Can amend sreen sizes ie. 16.9 to 4.3 to widescreen to cinema etc, but this doesn't seem to work when viewing the channels digitally meaning I am getting black borders at the side of the screen on some programmes, but not all. All adverts revert to full screen !!!

Is this due to the size the programme is being broadcast in ? Anyone else purchased one and found the same ??

    Thanks for any help..

The same! If the programme was made only in 4:3 then that is what is shown and the same if 16:9. So no fault with the tv.

I have yet to have a good read of all the features and to see if we can turn off the "auto" so that all programmes are either stretched to fit the screen (4:3) or or as broadcast 16:9. I do remember seeing some sort of button on the remote but as work dictates me getting up at 04:00 and then being here for 12 hours ( ) I'll have to wait till tonight to have a read of the manual, which I must say looks quite user friendly for once!

Had one of the previous Bush IDTV versions ( replaced recently with a Sony)

If programn was not widescreen , the picture had either back borders or was streched ( sometimes looked totally wrong)

IMHO Sony much better but more expensive

    ..............

If it is the same tube, you might have to be careful watching bright colours! On my TV the likes of that Sky News banner (a nice shade of bright white!) leaves a discoloured patch which stays for a couple of minutes after you turn over! It looks like the screen burn you get with projection TVs but unlike on them, it does go away.

It is not the TV that has a "discoloured patch which stays for a couple of minutes after you turn over" but YOUR EYES !!

It's a form of "retinal burn" where it is possible for the cones or rods at the back of your eyes to become "saturated" and as such still have an electrical output of an image into the visual cortex part of the brain after the image has been removed.
