  • Of course, ISA interest rate normally higher than the base rate.

yip........:T and atm many savings rates are actually rising despite the last Base Rate decrease. :j

  • Someone posted last week a belief that Barclays will be allowing its Branches to open the new ISA so as to avoid Taxbeater ISA account openings problems recurring.

Yes, applications are going to be done electronically this time rather than through the post. Which should make my life easier!

ID was done at branches last time, that wasnt the problem, the problem was that applications were all processed at Barclays ISA office and the ISA office couldnt cope with demand.

Someone posted last week to say that Barclays Branches will be able to process the applications ( i.e open the accounts) this time around.

As you work for Barclays will the Branches be processing the account openings or will Barclays ISA office be filling their in trays with ISA applications for the second year running.?
  • Can I open one of these in advance of 6 April if I have used up all my ISA allowance for this tax year ie. open the account with no initial deposit then deposit £3600 in April?

I don't think so. Person I spoke to a few weeks ago said not, but then again he told me contradictory information about when the anniversay date would be for the end of the Tax Beater ISA.

    Def nono.gifhttp://www.thisismoney.co.uk/saving-and-banking/article.html?in_article_id=431274&in_page_id=7

Interest is paid monthly hence the higher quoted AER before anybody asks.

I did give Barclays my application + 1.00 personal cheque + ID in late March 2007 in readiness for the 2007/08 tax year. ;)

I wonder why Barclays' own ISA page doesn't mention the new ISA?
