    Heya.

Not really but I'm surviving. :) I have an appointment on Tuesday with my project worker to discuss support and then on Wednesday I have an appointment with the doctor. She's going to phone up the Eating Disorders clinic with me.Then I'm going to be referred to the hospital psychiatry consultant over the next few weeks. I feel myself getting stressed already.:rotfl:

    How are you today lovely?

    xx

Its normal to feel stressed when you have appointments coming up, its stressful going to the docs at times let alone going to the hospital.Be proud that you have approached the doc for help as that is the second step.
Look forwad to the appointments tho, i know easier said than done but if might make u feel less stressed hun.I have loads of appointmens due, cant even think straight let alone concentrate but I have wrote them down in the diary to try and rememebr as I keep forgetting. And I still forget lol.

im ok, same as really.Ive been really lazy lately not doing anything.Need to go shop and get some food shopping, need to do houeswork coz i cant stand mess, need to sort myself but go to much on but you know how it is, getting by. Got to go council monday as they refuse to help me get re housed even tho doc said i need to be out fo here,so they are going to try and find me a private landlord. What is the point when I dont have a deposit and months rent in advace. These ppl are not thick but really pee me off coz Im fed up repeating myself to them, they drag me to these offices for the same old rubbish and then they reduce me to tears. ye they just sit there with a smirk on there faces. Im not gonna think about the hosuing problems im having no more coz its upsetting my son seeing me the way I am . I can only hold so much in and sometimes its all to much.

Does anyone watch Hollyoaks?OMG its been so good,Jake is so like spermdonor but Jake is better looking lol...

You said what I wanted to say but couldn't get out.

Part of my BPD is that I take things to heart and absolutebounders post did upset me a bit but as I said that is most likely just me being overemotional.

    How are you today hun?

    xx

Not too bad today actually, thanks. :) Working my way through Masters of Horror S01. :D

And a tube of pringles.

Hi tiff Im pleased you have welcomed me as a friend but I should say at the outset I am a hypnotherapist and not in the least bit depressed.
Well, good for you. I'm glad you don't have first hand experience of how horrible it is.

Depression as an illness interests me on a number of fronts. People who are depressed tend to say the right things but actually do everything possible not to get better. Now this is as a result of action by the sub concious mind. Depression is also very attention seeking though the people with it will often deny it.
When help is offered it is noticeable that all sorts of excuses come out not to do something rather than excuses to get it done.
No, not quite. Things that seem little to "normal" people can seem impossible to depressed people. A lot of people with depression find it hard to get out of bed, so advice seems harder. You can't run a marathon if you can't even walk to the kitchen and put the kettle on!
So that's why a lot of the advice in this thread probably seems ridiculous to you. We tell everyone to try and get up and dressed every day (everyone: I hope you are, otherwise I'll set the D-O-G-S onto you!) because just little things are hard.
And maybe it does seem like people are trying to make themselves worse, but it isn't really like that. Once you've had a bad experience of doing something, it becomes harder. You know, you have to get back on a horse once you've fallen off. So people with depression may have had bad experiences doing normal every day things, and then it becomes harder to do them again. But it's the carrot and the stick thing - people need encouragement to do things, and not telling off for not doing them. So we try and celebrate small triumphs because to us they're great.

There are all sorts of excuses for depression as well like chemical imballances in the brain yet science doesnt seem to be able to point out a normal balance in the first place.
Treatment seems to be poor to me. Go to the doctor and the chemical imballance is made worse with more chemicals that block normal brain activity.
Counselling is all over the place.
So that's a problem with the NHS, not us.

I believe that the drugs make the treatment less likely to work. Depressed people are often alchoholics or binge drinkers. Now alchohol is a depressant so fill the brain with a depressant and wonder why depression doesnt go away:confused:
Alcohol makes things better in the short term, and when you can't see past the end of next week, feeling better now seems like a good idea.

Depression is also comparative. It doesnt work unless it can be compared to something and that is why I will not be popular for saying this but I do not believe this thread is good as you are all feeding your depression off each other.
I dont have all the answers which is why I am learning behaviors from here and many other places so that I can improve treatment when it is asked for.
No, we're trying to be supportive here. In some cases, you're right. Places like pro ana sites do encourage negative behaviour and there is competition to be the "best". But you just need to look back through the thread to see that we try and support each other.

I don't mind seeing my doctor really. It's not even the appointments I get worked up and stressed about. It's the getting there. :/ I'm worried about the ED clinic because I have to travel 8 miles from home and that might be nothing to some people but it's a big thing for me. I'm going to ask my project worker if she'll come with me. :) Or I might tell her about the clinic and then see if she offers because I don't like to be forthcoming.lol.

So much that needs to be done. Where do we find the time? I find that I say I'll sit down for 5 minutes and then a few hours have gone by.Time flies as they say.

Has your doctor written a letter to support your re-housing? That might move things along a bit. That's the only trouble with private landlords is that you need a deposit etc and when you don't have it it can make things harder. I hope everything gets sorted out soon hun. It must be so stressful. ****hugs****

    I haven't watched Hollyoaks in months. I don't even know who's still in it and who's left.lol.
