How did you decide to go for a 3rd?

I remember when I had my first son (got 3 now) a wee old lady I met in the supermarket said to me "you'll just know when you're family is complete, until you've had all the children you should then you will always get the feeling that someone is missing". And she was right. If you have the feeling that there is someone still to arrive, go for it. I've never regretted having three, even though some things are of course more difficult, we needed a bigger house, had to become a two-car family (three under-5s on public transport is impossible) and hand-me-down clothes can't always get handed down that far!
But be warned - holidays are a nightmare - the travel companies will charge you full price for your third child, but will not count them as occupants so you will pay the under occupancy charge on top (result - we book a private villa now). Hotel stays in the UK and major cities are to be avoided unless you want to take 2 rooms and pay full price - these only cater for families of 4. Some hotels will have family suites but they come at a premium. And "family tickets" to the cinema, theatre etc will only cover 2+2. Also all "family holiday" prizes I've seen are for 2+2 - how do you decide who is to stay behind? Result - I don't enter.0
