I'snt it possible that there is alot of companies jumping on the bandwagon.Oh our costs have gone up because of the shortage of...,too much rain, not enough rain, global demand etc.Always some excuse to bolster the prices.A number of supermarkets have already got caught out colluding with each other over raising milk prices.

Yes. Its now far cheaper than bread. Scrub that, forgot about the flour. Nothings immune. Glad I opened that NS&I indexed linked bond.

Anybody seen the price of WHEAT today on the commodities market ?

It has just gone up 5.7% IN ONE DAY !

Wait for the BBC to catch up with food prices going ballistic once that filters through the system.

The world harvests have not been bad. In fact they've been up for the last few years. If there is a bad global harvest, which is coming sooner or later due to the undeniable climate changes, you are going to see either empty shelves or unbelievable prices or a combination of both.

The bottom line is there is not enough food to go round the planet and the Chinese and Indians and other former 3rd world countries want it and can now afford to buy it.

Add on top of that oil shortages/high energy prices exacerbating the inflation.

You're going to need double digit returns just to keep up.

    Good Luck !

Looks like the BBC has finally caught up !

Can't wait for inflation figures to be announced ...

    2.9% ?
    3.1% ?

Thank Gord we have good statiticians at the ONS
Maybe they can get it under 2.5% ?
  • EDF....Electric up 17% ,Gas 22% ...

    NOW WE'RE COOKING ....!!!!!

OR NOT AS THE CASE MAY BE.

(How about investing in a SALAD ETF ?)

As people become more desperate, petty theft will soar.
It's a downward spiral....which is why we've got the terrorist laws in place ...in plenty of time for what is undoubtedly coming.

Reckon I'd better top the moat up now then before water charges go up (glad I'm not on the meter) and raise the drawbridge while I'm at it.

Wow, oil prices rise and gas and electricity prices rise too...

    Shock, horror.

Stop scaremongering, it's getting really boring watching you try to whip people into a frenzy of panic. It's just a turbulent period, not the end of the world.
