7% growth-HA HA -it won't be enough !!

Anybody seen the price of WHEAT today on the commodities market ?

It has just gone up 5.7% IN ONE DAY !

Wait for the BBC to catch up with food prices going ballistic once that filters through the system.

The world harvests have not been bad. In fact they've been up for the last few years. If there is a bad global harvest, which is coming sooner or later due to the undeniable climate changes, you are going to see either empty shelves or unbelievable prices or a combination of both.

The bottom line is there is not enough food to go round the planet and the Chinese and Indians and other former 3rd world countries want it and can now afford to buy it.

Add on top of that oil shortages/high energy prices exacerbating the inflation.

You're going to need double digit returns just to keep up.

Good Luck !

And in a few years time as they become richer, we are the ones who wont be able to afford it.

Well according to the BBC: High-protein spring wheat on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange rose by almost 25% to record levels on Monday. The March futures contract closed at up $4.75 at $24 a bushel, the record price for any US wheat contract.

    It's OK - that's $24 a bushel which is 56 pounds in weight.
Just buy a bushel and make your own flour and bread - it can't be that hard.
It won't be long before we get a gadget at £3.99 that allows you to pour a bushel in at one end and get bread out the other. So one bushel = 56 pounds so about 25 loaves at a dollar each = 50p:T

Where is that EEC food mountain when you need it?
