I asked at our local garden centre on Saturday (I, too, just want a plant rather than p!ssing about with seeds when I only want one) and they said that it's too early in the year for them atm.0

Hi
Must depend on the garden centre ordering as ours have them - I saw them at the weekend. I grow my own personally, but I saw them as we were sheltering from the rain when looking for something for the borders...0 -
Hey guys thanks for all the info, i will try some of the places mentioned in my area. I think she would be disappointed if i just brought her some seeds

They are the only licenced company to sell Bih Jolokia which is the hottest chilli in the world, miles hotter than the habenero0 -
Much more rewarding to save your own seed. Remove seeds from a fresh chilli, dry for a few days on kitchen paper then plant them. They will take 10 - 14 days to germinate in damp compost on a warm kitchen windowsill. Don't move them outside until June as any cold weather will inhibit their growth.0

I went to Wilkinsons Bristol Broadmead today in the hope of finding some chilli plants but they didn't have any

I consoled myself with some mushroom spore stuff though

Hello, at this time of year it is best to keep the plant indoors. I would recommend a kitchen windowsill as chillies enough humidity. Once the chance of frost has gone, they can be placed outdoors where they look fabulous. Please do remember to bring them back indoors later in the year, otherwise, they will not make it, again because of the frost.0

The annual chilli fiesta in West Dean Gardens in Sussex in early August is your best bet. Huge variety of fully mature plants that are laden with chillis of every size, shape and potency. A wonderful event, music, chilli food, chilli ice cream, chilli everything. maybe even chilli beer.0

How much does a mature chilli plant laden with loads of chillis cost? I saw one sold once on the tv and it seemed from memory to be alot of money... alot!Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
