Twinklie I feel the same as you. I haven't really done anything with the children and I need to sort all my planning out. I've been in my year group for two years now but I'm going to be full time and responsible for all the planning for the first time! I haven't even decided on the topic yet. Had been thinking ourselves but thinking I might make it ourselves and school so I can incorporate school rules and how to play with things. Maybe even just school as there will only be about 4 weeks of afternoons to plan for. How useless am I? I don't even know how many weeks are in the first half term nor do I have my academic diary yet!

We don't get our teacher diary till the first day. I refuse to buy an academic diary because I did that last year and didn't use it...everything goes in my teacher diary. Does terrify me though the thought of loosing it. Still, I organised my room on the day before we finished because I didn't teach on a Thurs afternoon last year which was a bonus!

But God I need to figure out what I'm doing. Not even thought about KS4. Crumbs. Time to get a grip I think.

Ooh sounds hectic, I can't even start planning my teaching until everyone is back in September as the tutors are away and also have to wait until the bloke from City and Guilds comes to tell us what assignment structure they are expecting from our new course!

      General
[*][STRIKE]List things on ebay[/STRIKE] 5 clothing items listed - if not won I'll take them to the charity shop - rather do that than freecycle as they are nice clothes and they might make a bit of money of charity.
      [*]File all bits and pieces.
      [*]Take tv stand to b & sil's house/tip.
[*]Take old toilet to the tip.
[*]Print and post TNS receipt - wait till Sunday and send both together.
[*][STRIKE]Make sure OH applies for PhD. He's on with this...hopefully email application later![/STRIKE]
[*]Make sure OH applies for job.

      School
[*]Write up pro forma for SOW.
[*]Make up resources for SOW lessons.
[*]Design project and make resources for it. Got an idea what I'll do for this.

      UNI
      [*]Do portfolio I think I finally get this. 2234 / 2500 words

      DIY
[*]Clear yard in preparation for bringing wall down.
[*][STRIKE]Create a timeline with OH of DIY work for next week - very important as it should make sure we are ready for the builders the following week.[/STRIKE]

I'm hoping splitting up my list and making it smaller and more easily manageable might lift my mood slightly. Fingers crossed.

Got to say though I'm expecting to do my SOW or portfolio...doubt I'll get both done. And I just want to do as much of the resources as possible - not expecting to make them all!

Early to bed, early to rise for me I think. Although I'm really cross at OH. He's been wanting to change his job/do a PhD for a while now and now the opportunity arises (he has to send the application form tomorrow morning if it's going to make the deadline) he decides to go out to his mates. He'll do it when he gets in apparently! Words fail me. I'm not going to even bother getting him up tomorrow. Just going to focus on what I need to get done.

Have to go out tomorrow night thought for another MS! Boo.

I was thinking about if I'll be happy as a teacher forever and the current answer is no! I'm still toying with the idea of being an Educational Psychologist but it's pretty hard to get into. There is an info evening at a the nearest uni to me that does the training (not many round the country) on the 13th October.

Might have a chat to OH about attending. Just to find out if it's an option really. Guess I need to weigh it up against whats going on at school as well. Think my MA will stand me in good stead though. Fingers crossed anyhoo. If not, I'll stop and switch to something that will help instead. I don't know....one to think about I think.

If I did do it though my the letters after my name would be excellent.

xxxxxx BSc (Hons), PGCE, MA, D.Ed.Ch.Psych. Now that would be impressive! Ha ha

Lol. Your last post really made me laugh. I hope you don't know my mother! I often get things like " Well, her daughter is very bright you know, she has letters after her name" One day I'd had enough and said, so has your daughter, but I couldn't compete if you knew her, with all those letters ;-)

Ed Psy sounds goods. I'm sure ours has never been a teacher and she seems to have no understanding of what we are experiencing!!

Well my degree is in Psychology and is something I would like to have carried on with but I couldn't get the funding to do an MSc. I wanted to be an Ed Psych, but the only way I could have gotten into it (funded) was by becoming a teacher first. Then they went and changed the rules so you don't have to have been a teacher at all. But I think teaching has really given me the experience (and confidence) I would have needed.

Anyway while doing all my training etc I decided I'd be happy to "just" (as if its a small thing) be a teacher, but I still keep thinking about psychology. I'm going to introduce it into the curriculum at school...but I'm not sure how long that will keep me excited. I don't do settling! Ha ha.

For now though I'll settle for xxxxxx BSc (Hons), PGCE....with the hope of the MA. Imagine the size of the name plate I'd need. :rotfl:

Well as I do Science I got a bursary so it was pretty MSE for me as well really! Ha ha. I think teaching is pretty MSE really because you never have time to spend any money during term time because you're always working (well I don't spend anyway).

Right time for bed me thinks!
