Congrats on the job that's brill, and teaching is such a worthwhile career.
How did it work out with your OHs degree in the end?0 -
He's finished all the taught modules, but there have been unforseen probs with his disertation. And he's had a string of bad news....death/terminal illnesses of family etc.
So he's going to submit his disertation next year instead. So it does delay him graduating a year but probably works out for the best. This is mainly because work have said they need him to go full time till Christmas or they wont renew his contract. So he'll be part time over summer - so still has time to work on house and see me. Then will be full time over sept - dec. Then part time again.
He's much happier now he knows whats happening as am I. So hopefully our finances should get themselves sorted out quite nicely!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

My electricity is capped until 2011, and I've written 1'000 words of my essay. Yey! Only another 3500 words to go then.....worst luck!
Still, I'm feeling like I've had a productive day. I might give up on this essay soon though and trundle back to SAT's marking. I currently prefer SAT's marking to this essay lark.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Ok, so I've more or less finished the essay, just need to check through it but I'll do that later with fresh eyes.
Got a phone call yesterday from ETS asking me to mark more SAT's papers, and agreed to an extra 200. Where am I gonna find the time????
It's funny what the pressure of needing money can do to you isn't it. It's approx an extra £650 though, so I couldn't say no. Won't get paid until the end of September so I have to make sure I'm covered. And as bad as it sounds I don't wanna work over summer.
Anyway, I best get back to it. Only another 15 pupils (2 papers each) until benchmarking!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I've been on it again...the moneysaving wagon that is.
Rang Scotish Power to see if they do capped duel fuel. They do! So both are now capped until 2011! Yey. So even if we don't have the massive expected hike, at least I know what I'm paying until then so I can forget about it! For a while at least.
Only another 5 pupils left to mark (2 papers each).
Also got to get the car MOTed and taxed. It will have to get done tomorrow! Fingers crossed I make it to the post office in time....don't wanna telling off!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hmmm....the car failed it's MOT. It's going to cost us £800+ to get it fixed which is rather upsetting. Thankfully, we have the money to cover it though.
So we are now driving round in a little VW Polo until ours is fixed. Unfortuantley it's a petrol car and ours is a diesel. I'm terrified I'll forget and put the wrong fuel in....fingers crossed I don't kill it!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Well I've had one of those few weeks where it makes you appreciate the good times...
One of my mates kids has been arrested for attempted murder, the stupid lad stabbed someone. To be fair he tried ringing the police and telling them a gang was chasing him but no one came. They backed him into a corner someone dropped a knife so he picked it up and ended up stabbing one in the throat! Idiot!
Then a very close relative was diagnosed with terminal brain tumors. Then, to top it off, a mate of ours turned up on our doorstep after being attacked and threatened.
We found him a place to stay but didn't hear from him when he said he'd be in touch the next day....2 weeks later the police called. He was found dead in the park by our house. They think he'd been dead for approx two weeks. And his dog (his baby) was missing.
They think it might have been murder, so now we are caught up in all that.
THEN to top it off I'm recovering from 2 days of being sick everywhere every 5 mins.
I tell you, it really does make you appreciate the good times!!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Still poorly. Not sure whether I'm gonna hit the SAT's marking deadline now either which is upsetting. I want my bonus £100.
I've managed to mark about 30 papers today but I just start feeling sick so have to keep stopping. ARGH!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
