thanks for sticking same gender couple on but it looks like a bit of an afterthought and shows that this poll is excluding a whole load of people just on demographic grounds. What is it supoposed to tell me? Why cant i still select 'man makes all financial decisions' because i have to select 'same gender'? It would be relevant to ask 'does one partner make all decisions' 'do each partner share decisions equally' that might illustrate something about something but this just looks like we are trying to make generalisations about gender roles, or trying to blow up the whole 'battle of the sexes' so called debate.
rant over. sorry!0 -
It is H for me, before I split up with my girlfriend last year it would have been C.
Two of my best friends are a same sex couple (women), they take it in turns with everything, so should they vote for G or I if they come on here?If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -
Not into an argument on categories, but just wanted to add a thought, re "is this result representative of people trying to be money saving or DF". How many of the ladies have taken oven after getting into trouble?
I have always done the finances, naturally numerical, and DH isn't and isn't interested, though I do make him aware of my thought processes and he has the right to disagree. As long as he has a few quid in his pocket and the CC to put diesel in he's a happy bunny, but he would not dream of spending other than that without us talking about it. Like Sola he would be up the creek without a paddle if I was not around. On the other hand DS is just like me and I keep pointing him in the right direction, and yes he will be shown where everything is to help DH if I am not around. He will take the money lead in his relationship when he gets one.
I worry though when the man takes the financial lead, as I witnessed my SIL winging/nagging/pleading for new x,y,z, for the house, when there was not the money for it, and not appreciating that fact.
Just my take on it. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
C for me.
Mrs G isn't good with numbers, by her own admission, and is more than happy to let me complicate our finances in whatever way I like. As a SAHM, she does most of the spending but I keep an eye on the budget and let her know when we need to cut back.
Reading other posts on here, I'm reminded I never finished the explanation I started writing of what's where. I may be worth more dead than alive but she wouldn't know where to find it!0
