A combination of D and E, but more on the D side really. I handle the budget (he gets pocket money) and research products, which we then discuss. I thought he was keeping up with things but found out yesterday he doesn't even know who our basic suppliers are, even though we have an organised housefile with all the info in. If I dropped dead tomorrow, he wouldn't have a clue where to begin.

D - on the day-to-day running of the finances. For big purchases etc E, things are done together.

    Plato ;) Make £2018 in 2018 no. 37 - total = £1626.25/£2018 :j
  • I think there should be a choice combining D and E. Woman does everything financial, Man thinks everything is done together.

H, just me, but the problem was that for a good old while, no one was wearing the financial trousers....

D - I deal with everything, he's happy to let me

Obviously huge things like house or car decisions are made together, but banking, insurance, energy suppliers etc are all done by me (with a little help from this site);)

It has to be that way else nothing would get done - we moved house 2 months ago - only thing I asked him to do was phone his credit card company and give them our change of address.....guess what? Still waiting:rolleyes:

D for me too,but anything major, like car,new telly etc we obviously talk about it.I think to be fair to most men, they are too busy working long hours(mine certainly does) and is therefore more than happy to let us ladies keep the financial side of things in order.

Just as an example of how much he leaves to me,he fancied a tin of soup at the weekend which is when i work, and though we have had the ceramic hob almost a year(one of those without knobs) he couldn't get it to work!! Luckily we have a microwave!!

He does clean my car and the windows though, jobs i hate, so can't complain!!

D - I work in the financial sector so it's all left to me. I check the joint acc daily, although he does have his own account which I know nothing about. In fact he trusts me so much it worries me, he just signs things when I tell him to!
Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

It's D for our household too, I even put in an offer on my current home without his knowledge and he hadn't seen it, my OH is happy as long as I am happy, he is simply not interested in budgets/aprs/best deals for credit cards or even football.

It works for us, I simply hand him "pocket money" of £270 a month, to use as he pleases. We both know were we are then. He works very long hours and I'm a SAHM so I have the time to do the financial side of things, my OH couldn't tell you who our mortgage is with or gas/electricity supplier, infact he doesn't even know were our saving are...but I do:D

The results of this poll have truly suprised me!
In the lead, currently, is D - Woman makes all financial decisions.

In my household, it is the same... I've voted D. I make all joint financial decisions. I am in charge of making sure we have savings, all the bills go out of my account, I do the food shopping... in fact, the only thing he is responsible to pay for is his Insurance!

If I left it up to him, we would run out of money within a couple of weeks, and so he is happy for me to take charge!

Ha ha ha, exactly the same here! Although to be fair, I just deal with the money - he actually earns it :p Well, he does if I do his invoicing for him (s/e)... lol

But seriously, I do worry. If owt happened to me, he'd be high and dry. Must sort this out... but how? :rotfl:
:TProud to be dealing with my debts :T
