Why do you bring up this old thread? Is the other thread you started yesterday not enough? You've been given some advise and didn't reply to this yet.
  • Sorry to bother with the same hack but none of the suggestions I´ve received seem to be working.
  • Looking for a region unlock code for my philips hts7520. Was told that it would play any region because it was ntsc/pal. I know the difference, there just wasn't any region info on the system when purchased. I'm in region 2, but have a ton of region 1 dvds and some region A blue ray. Some of the region A blue ray work but have been told that's just luck. Thanks for the help. It may be the same as hts7512 or hts7540, but havn't found any codes for those either. Thanks!

right site i use to use years ago which used to be good was now lists 6142 machine hacks http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

    samsung one http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-dvd-c550/10865
philips one cant find on there sorry.
    another site to use http://www.dvdhacks.co.uk/hacksearch/hacksearch.asp
there lots of these sites use google to find more
  • OK, so this doesn't change the region code, however, I used what was stated for Philips BDP7500SL.

    turn on player
press the home key on the remote
right arrow to Settings, but do not press ok
    type on your remote: 13893108520

This will display all of the current settings for the player.
    Region_Code: DVD(2) BD(B)

This however didn't change the settings like for the BDP7500SL. However, I'm hoping this information will help someone else come up with the hack now.
  • OK, so I finally got a hold of the service manual (google servicemanuals all one word).
    1) Turn on player with no disk inserted
    2) Press <Open/Close> on the remote control
    3) Press "2" "5" "9" on the remote control
The VFD will desiplay "TRADE ON" or "TRADE OFF"
"TRADE ON" allowed me to watch Region 1 and Region 2 DVDs.
The BlueRay disks are still just Region B.
