Just seen in Prima magazine, www.mopay.co.uk will pay cash for your old mobile plus give 10% to childline. You go online, complete the details about your mobile, get a price, send it to them in a padded envelope and get a chq in 14 days. Seems to good to be true, they were quoting £40 for a newish model nokia - sorry didnt note the exact model :(

Alternatively, you could donate it to womens aid by picking up a fonesforsafety envelope at the body shop.

I'd go for the first option if I were you. Women's Aid do some good work, but they are a fundamentally sexist and feminist organisation. They try to belittle male victims of violence whilst at the same time claiming to be "The National domestic violence charity".

There was an excellent discussion regarding Women's Aid on the forums a while back but it seems to have been deleted now.

I'm sorry, I'm all for giving to deserving charities where able, but £50 for a Nokia N91 that is still relatively top-of-the-range! You have got to be kidding me!

I paid £330 for that phone in August, still brand new, used only once, only reason for not using it is because I'm partially sighted and the software for it is not yet available. I'd ask at least £200-£250 for it.

Seriously, the lower end models are well priced, but no way would I give up the higher end models - it's a rip off.

Sorry, I'm not trying to offend anyone or start an arguement, but the higher end models are so undervalued it's amazing anyone would part with them for that much. And considering most of them would be As New, well...

sorry again, but thanks for the link, and I'll certainly be shipping off some of my older, more obselete units.

    Hussein.

  • The idea behind these websites is for old phones though that are no longer used, I don't think anyone is suggesting that its a good idea for new models.
