"Well, I for one agree with Conor"

Well done Cricri, you've just gotten Conor and yourself reported to MSE for abusive posts.

I think you need to be a little less trigger happy, cricri's post was not in the least bit offensive (after his clarification). But it makes no difference because the admin will notice that. I guess this thread won't be here much longer.

Oh, no, please have mercy. I promise never to say the word "agree" anymore. I didn't mean to be offensive when I said this word!
Can a mod please censure my post and replace "agree" with a beep?

But back on topic again, you guys are right. I remember that I used to park along yellow lines at night when going to city centre, and never had a problem. I only assumed it was safe because everyone does the same, but it never occurred to me to actually check the sign for the why it was tolerated.

I've noticed how ratty your posts are getting these days, Conor. Are you OK?

I think the medications wearing off.;)

For some reason Conor allways seems to pick on "Newbies". Some sort of perverse superiority thing possibly?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    Precautionary principle.

If I see a single yellow and can't find a sign, I park somewhere else. Not worth the hassle. If I feel angry enough I might write to the council and tell them about the missing sign - a bit cheaper than a fine.

It never ceases to amazes me the lengths able-bodied people will go to park less than 6 feet from where they want to go. There are 2 long objects beneath your torso with feet on the end, designed for walking.

Our local chippie usually has several customers' cars parked ON THE PAVEMENT which has double yellows, despite there being a large empty car park round the corner, making life hell for pedestrians and anyone trying to turn from a side road into the main street.
