AnWsMum thank you for the bag, arrived this morning
I spent 2 years trying to get him one of those and you get us one in days, you're a star
Denise, so lovely to hear from you, even if the Flylady way doesn't quite work for you like the others you are more than welcome to join us when you can, everyone has different lives and what works for some doesn't for others, I've missed hearing from you.
Well one roofer has been who has said 'the whole lot of the pointing needs replacing' (I think he's telling fibs but the next estimates will hopefully show) he's putting an estimate in the post, goodness knows what silly price he'll want, he drove a very nice car. One didn't phone back, another hasn't arrived yet but I did say after 11am. Winds really picked up again here so wondering what further damage will occur.
I've now figured out where the £450 has come from, which is a much needed bonus, so I am happyjust tranfered it out to pay bills so they are done and it's gone, what do they say? In one hand out of the other?
Sitting room was subject to a manic tidy round and vacuum before the school nurse came out, she's referring DS2 to the continence service & clinic about it so hopefully get some input from them. She's looking into what they can/can't provide to help with his needs, anything will be a bonus.
Sorted redelivery of the item which arrived on the only morning I was out, grrr, I hate the local collection office which is open for 4 hours a day and the queue is always at least 20 people when I have been.
Getting DP up soon then working on the last of this assignment, one question to do on the computer then some write ups to do, hoping to post it out tomorrow. DSs rooms have had a quick tidy (they aren't actually too bad), done the beds, vacuumed through downstairs, washers on the second load of the day. List will no doubt expand when I remember what else I must do.

Hi there, does anyone else feel in the mood for a bit of spring cleaning?? I've gradually been de-cluttering but our bed room had become a bit of a problem. It didn't look too bad on the surface but cupboards and general clutter (books etc) had taken over. The final straw was a damp patch that appeared over the chimney breast:eek: . Anyway, that's fixed now. And I've finished the painting (Hombase Flawless Matt- V Good) and cleared out loads of stuff so should be much easier to clean now. I was detrmined not to put everything back. I changed the furniture round in the room for a bit of a new look. I had reasonably new bedding so I've washed all of that - quilts, bedcover, pillows, valance and curtains. They've come up as good as new!! I shortened the curtains as the bottoms were a bit rubbish. Hey Presto - nice new room cost about £35! Have now cleaned rest of the house as things always seem to get messy when I take my eye off them eg when decorating. So much easier in the de-cluttered rooms. Still got nice 'bits' and photos etc but under control. I'm continuing to de-clutter other rooms. DS1 & DS2 are at Uni so my take the opportunity to 'muck out' their rooms!!Doing a boring job but thinking of the money!!0

Morning all
One load of washing done. I hung it out on the line for a couple of hours but the wind is getting up now and it's getting cloudier so I've got it in and spread it round indoors. Don't want to have to run out in the rain while I'm trying to cook dinner or something.
It feels really cold out there today.
Polished living room and computer desk and vacuumed through downstairs. S&S kitchen and vacuumed floor.
Took the dog out.
Did I mention my DS is coming home for the weekend? I haven't seen him since Christmas.0 -
I have a question, my new cooker arrived yesterday, very nice it is. It is a 5 burner gas hob range gas cooker. The knob to the cooker has different cooker number settings then the normal gas cooker ones. All i have is 130, 160, 245 and max and a few dots in between instead of the normal gas mark 1234 etc. How do i know which setting is which gas mark? Any ideas?
The manual doesn't give me any clues
Gas Mark Celsius Fahrenheit
1 140 275
2 150 300
3 160 325
4 180 350
5 190 375
6 200 400
7 220 425
8 230 4500 -
My nails are looking glam.. my nose thinks it is a tap.. You'll like this one.. you know I was thinking of going to college after summer to learn something useful.. well.. I have always been interested in and good at (don't laugh!!) biology.. yeah yeah.. heard it all before and some.. you aren't funny lol.. anyway.. I was thinking maybe the medical foundation? and go onto being a GP? or something.. ?? .. would that be WAY too over ambitious.. I would be 42 before I was fully qualified!! at least that!! Just doing a biology degree just feels to me like a pathway to teaching and I REALLY REALLY don't want to do that.. I have utter respect for those who can tolerate a room full of oiks all day long.. personally I'd shoot them! lol
Hey ho.. we shall see.. I have been brave and had my pics taken for the passport/driving licence (did I say that yesterday?) SO I'm getting those in the post today hopefully.. now.. where did I leave my list???

Hubbie working from home today so he can collect the girls.
Off for a HHC 11.30 - 12 anyone else?
HHC turned into a 90 min challenge but I do have things crossed off, going to grab a quick lunch and then declutter the lounge before I have to go to the bank, will do tescos on the way home.0 -
It was more than 30mins, and I did....
Not a lot.
Bathed DS2
Tidied my bedroom a bit
Made lunch
Put a washing on
Brought bin in from Wednesday
Still not been to asda and now DS2 is down for a nap. He is still clingy, like a baby chimp, speaking of which, DS1 and I record Monkey Buisness off Animal Planet, and we had a cry because Harry the chimp died after the Sri Lancian govenrment refused to let him come over here. Now I'm all weepy and DS1 is 'sad'.0 -
everyone - recommend me a dishwasher - ours was making funny noises last night and was smoking and I didnt dare put it on. The knob thing is bust and we need to use pliers to turn it on LOL so not sure if maybe I turned it too far and it was heating the element with no water in it
Anyway we have decided to get a new one :j so need to decide. If I can get hold of kitchen company and get a door to match we will get an integrated one :j it'll be like having a new kitchen :j
On the swimming thing - there are signs up everywhere saying "Parents must UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES leave personal belongings in a cubicle". Can these morons not read ????? If it had been a stranger I would have dumped it but as its a school Mum ...... and if I could have dumped it and hidden in it I would have done that anyway but the pram wont fit ... I mean I could pile us all in one with a babychange table (if I could get one) but I am a nice considerate person and leave these for the parents of ones that actually need a table :A Had a rant (as I do!!!) to the creche manager today,. she's not backward about coming forward, she says she's asked will they pay her to police it as she'd love to go around dumping stuff in the wet :rotfl: :rotfl:
Right better go do our lunches. Then some FLYING. BBBrrrrr its cold first job - heat on.
