  • morning all, if I start drinking at say 4pm, will prob be in bed by about 8.30pm, then wake up at around 2am to use the loo and wont be able to get back to sleep and will get up at 3am, will then feel rubbish for the rest of the day, but if I dont drink and go to bed at 10.30, still wake in the night but get back to sleep no bother, anyone else find this?

SianneLaz, thanks for your very honest post - knowing yourself and being strong in the face of internal and external pressure to drink is the key to stopping anything I guess.

I was carp last night, got on the phone blethering to friends and sank the best part of a bottle, thing is didn't open it until 10 o'clock (actually DH opened it and I just tumbled in) so was really a bit bingey. Being honest, when I went to bed I really loved the feeling of being drunk - not too drunk but all floaty. What I didn't like was the feeling of waking a 5 in the morning, dehydrated, sweating, naseous and with the beginning of a cracking headache.

today just feel tired which is stupid given the amount of stuff I need to do.

    When will I ever learn?

Bis, out of curiosity, what do you say when people ask you why you're not drinking?
  • bonfire night tomorrow, would normally use this as an excuse to have a drink same as halloween, have a drink, birthday have a drink, today ends in a y have, you know what I mean

Oh yes, slight variation ... start drinking 3 - 4 ish / fall asleep on sofa any time between 9 & 10 like old *art (insert letter of your choice depending on impression I have made so far), wake up any time 11 - 2 & go to bed (always clean teeth!), straight back to sleep but only until 3 - 4 but then.....it's even worse this time of year cos it takes so long to get light....I don't get up just in case I drop off again but lie there thinking the dawn will never come then I wish it hadn't. Not much of a life is it???!!!! If I haven't had a drink then like you I do usually go off again, but even if I don't I will feel OK next day

Edit: possibly my most boring post ever. Shall I add what I have for breakfast?
