The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread!

Climb up here next to me winebox. I think we've all fallen off the wagon a few times in the past so know where you are coming from.

I had a glass of wine over the weekend with my meal - it was OK, didn't want more but I think that is because I had eaten too much! Also was with in-laws and they drink very little.

this week will be totally alcohol free as I have a heavy schedule and need my energy. I think it's helping with losing a bit of weight too!

Hi all

Couldn't face posting yesterday as had a bad weekend! OH turned up from work with a bottle of bullet bourbon on Friday and some beer and wine:eek: and I am afraid to say my good intentions went sailing out of the window:o I drank wine on Saturday too and then we 'had' to finish off the remainder of the beer on Sunday afternoon:rolleyes:

On a better note I managed an AFD yesterday and have no plans to drink again this week!

Good morning everyone...a question...is the season a trigger? I was never much of a sitting outside in the pub garden drinker so summer wasn't too bad for me. I find winter to be the most difficult because of images of warm fires and drinks and festivities.

Don't worry...there is still constant vigilance and I'm in a far better way than I was this time last year...then I had 3 months under my belt but was still scratching at the surface of understanding and not made so much progress refloating the sinking Bismarck ship...now it's definitely on the mend and I hope you guys are better then you were a year ago...

Good Morning everyone.

Bismarck....is season a trigger? ...definitely.
I think the dark nights and cosy evenings in are going to be hard for me to cope with.The evenings seem so long without a glass of something.
It is nearly six months for me now but to be honest I am dreading the party season....Christmas etc....a glass of sherry....log fires..:eek:
VIGILANCE at all times( and stop reading labels):D
Off to get weighed now.

I'm securely back on the wagon after a dodgy few days...it's great to wake up without any niggles or ailments

Haven't been around for a few days, been too busy at work and had problem with my modem at home so I'm off to catch up now!

Advent and christmas time will be very difficult for me - especially as we'll be getting together with some really good old friends with whom we like a drink!
otherwise I tend to drink more in the summer if I'm honest - getting up in the winter is way too difficult even when non-hungover!

Also we have half term coming up and we may go away so that'll be a temptation I imagine.

But this week is so far so good...
