Psycho woman was lovely, suitably impressed by my 6 day abstinence. She sensed how incredibly scared I am of failing (again ) and that I kept saying that I 'have' to do it. She tried to help me see that I need to think about 'if' I did have a drink again that it isn't the be all and end all rather than being submersed into complete doom and gloom and failure. This way I may have more chance of saying 'eff it, it was a glitch, let's pick up where I left off', rather than being miserable as sin the next day and drinking again to forget how carp it all is and saying I drank yesterday, I might as well today and I'll stop tomorrow, then continuting to say that for the next 2 years, which is what I've just done....if that makes sense? (It does in my head :rotfl:)

So no, today she didn't make me feel at all carp, I feel quite proud of myself and I've only got a few hours and then tomorrow evening I shall be able to celebrate my weekiversary with a nice cold can of lilt :D

How's your birthday going shoppy, hope you're enjoying yourself :D

Lurky, why not start the YM way and get your arris on ere tomorrow and join us? :D

    How's everyone else?

Right, I'm off to make thai chicken, basil and chillies, washed down by another 6 cans of lilt (bought 24 cans today  told the psyco woman that I might well develop a problem with it soon :rotfl:), then a magnum (the 6th one this week  ), I'm gonna be as big as a bus soon....with no teeth :rotfl:

grrrr my pc is a pain, connection keeps dropping out, so a quickie!

MHRs Shoppy!! You're a youngster! I'm 10 yrs older than you. Molly, I am very close behind you!! I think we are the two "grandes dames" on here.

Jo I am inordinately proud of you. What an achievement. Almost out of the blue, one minute you're struggling to cut down, next you've stopped, for ages!! Struggling to thing of a joke around Lilt but missing, someone out there will come up with something? She sang a lilting song??

YM hi, like others not aware of your online argument (damn!!) me also tomorrow. DD 9 today & my promise to her is to stop all this rubbish. I've even told her this, young though she is! She doesn't really understand but she's heard a few (drunken & therefore irrelevant but nasty) rows lately & I've forgotten conversations with her & I have been honest & told her it's too much wine; hoping to put her off in the future. She can nag for England (takes after moi) so I will get it in the neck if seen with glass in hand now.

Lurkio I also go for the "patient" build-up - have been patient for years now.

Have a good evening all x

editing to add a footer (ouch!) - said foot so painful is unable to even take hem of jeams brushing on it after 10 days - off for a x-ray after weekend if no improvement. Can't believe I've done this to myself.

at least you'll be a dry bus with no teeth.

saves on toothpaste and dental fees!

teeth are over-rated anyway.....I can think of other bodily parts that are far more important.

I've been wondering what everyone else drinks 'instead'? Haven't got a sweet tooth, butI have started drinking cold fruit teas by the bucketfull.
Get by at the pub with Lemonade (OH thinks this is great he is saving a fortune). Keep up the good work folk.

should drink lots more water but somehow don't - definitely one to work on.

    Morning.

Well here I am as promised. Day one and work later. For the record I am cutting down my consumption and not stopping completely. Not brave enough for that.

Doing well so far :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Mind you it is early.

    Will pop in later

    Have a good one

    ym

Ps Well done on the 2 years smoke free Lurkio.
