'I've decided, I'm loving the days being sober but absolutely hating the evenings, they are far too long and although I've got so much to do, I can't stand thinking about drinking. I know this will fade eventually cos I remember from before, I just hope it hurries up. I don't mind thinking about drinking or not drinking rather, but I can't stand the emptiness. It's like I've had a mate round for tea every night for the last 15 years and suddenly they've upped and left and I'm sat here by myself :('

Hi all, I'm trying to quote a bit from Jo's post but don't think I've done it properly, how do you do it??

Anyway, just wanted to say that I can so relate to that. I would have described it as 'boring' but 'emptiness' is a much better description. I suppose the thing to do is to change routines and find other things you enjoy that replace the drinking but I've got to admit I do struggle with that same feeling.

Shoppy, hope you had a good evening in the end.

It was nice seeing all the posts today, I can't post at work but checking in on you all today lightened my day.:T

    See you soon Ali x.

    Hi.

To include a post you need to look bottom right of the post in question. It should show a thanks button and a quote button. Click on that and then start typing after the last (quote) in the message you want to include.

    Good luck
