Hi all
Well just to update on my situation- I'm pregnant! We've been trying for a few months and am ashamed to say that I didnt give up alcohol while trying to conceive. However, am going to try really hard to abstain during pregnancy.
I found out last week and have already had two massive tests -
Last weekend was a friends 30th birthday and a group of us went away to the lakes for the w/end. It rained so everyone stayed in and started drinking at about 5pm. I really didnt know what to do with myself. I was so boring watching everyone else get drunk around me while I drank cranberry juice! I found myself being a real miserable !!!!!! and wanting to go to bed at around 10pm while everyone was just getting revved up
OH didnt help either as he was getting wasted and it was all 'dont be miserable' 'dont go to bed early' etc. Still, I stuck to the juice.
Then we went out for a meal for fathers day and I thought a small glass of wine with dinner wont hurt - god I wanted it sooooooooooooooooo badly. But I couldnt stand the guilts and ordered water instead. How boring!
This weekend we're going to a concert with BIL and SIL so again, everyone will be drinking.
God this is difficult. I've gone a week without a drink and I hope the cravings go away soon. I'm at a loss come wine pouring time (7pm) and dont know what to do with myself.

I was thinking this yesterday afternoon...some situations aren't actually solved, they're managed - each of us has to learn to do what's right for us and what works for us.
This is so true!I think most of us think there must be a solution to everything - but sometimes there just isn't and we have to ride through our problems. Things aren't as black and white as films and tv seem to portray.0 -

congratulations on both fronts....I don't want to overdo this but doing the right thing now can have life changing consequences and your OH should be with you every step of the way.
When Mrs Bismarck was pregnant, I was no angel but she's always been fantastic with the stuff and stopped when I did without me asking her too...this in itself has made the whole thing so much easier than it could have been. I really feel for those on here who have other halves who still drink - it can't be at all easy!
I'm afraid that at 7pm you need to do something different to get you over the blip...even if it's something self-indulgent!For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
