    catalogue no. is 422/8826
    or a Rachel Allen 6.5l for £13.99

If you are going to Argos and collect nectar points don't forget to use them.

I got my slow cooker there a year ago, half price in the sale and paid for with points. No cash changed hands.

Don't you just love it when that happens :D

The Rachel Allen one was posted a few weeks ago on the grabbits board, as a result of this many stores now have no stock and it is only remaining in the catalogue until the last store sell the final one or you will find they miraculously go into stock once the price goes back up to normal rrp.

I did get the Rachel Allen one, we are a family of five and it feeds us easily and still has enough for leftovers.

I previously used a 3.5 litre slow cooker but was fortunate enough to purchase the Rachel Allen slow cooker when it was on offer at Argos. The extra volume is brilliant, i can double/triple the ingredients and then freeze the rest in pour and store bags for a quick and easy meal.

I would recommend you 'go large' when it comes to purchasing your slow cooker.

    This is mine.

I bought it when it was on offer for £9.99 A great size for a family and easy to use and keep clean.
There were no instructions or recipe book with it but trial and error has taught me that the low setting cooks everything fine in the time I'm out at work and not to worry too much about stuff drying out as it tends to stay pretty moist as the lid keeps all the liquid in.
    HTH.

    Hi Completely Confused,

As your thread has fallen from the front page of Old Style I've added it to the main thread on buying a slow cooker which has lots of advice that should help.

  • Hi all,

I wonder if you could let me know your make and model of Slow Cooker, and if there is anything that would like and dislike about it.

I am trying to work out which one to get, and it is tough to decide.

So thought I'd ask if you could do a mini review to help me.

    Many thanks

    Hi Counting Pennies!

I have this one and no complaints. It has high low and auto, is oval shaped so fits all sorts of meat joints, and a glass lid I can see what's happening!

There is also a thread where everyone discusses which slow cooker they bought and why.

Have a read and I will add yours to that one later

    thanks

I've got this one (Rival Crockpot) and I'm delighted with it. I suppose the only drawback is that, if you've got a large family, you might need the bigger one. When I bought it (about a year ago) it was £20 in Robert Dyas.
